Stamping Press Operator (2Nd Shift) - Monday-Thursday (10 Hour Shifts)

Operate power press to trim, punch, shape, notch, draw or crimp metal. Inspect products to ensure quality by using precision measuring instruments, gages, and visual inspection.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Process materials on production equipment
• Report hourly production totals
• Detect and report defective materials
• Check parts in process as directed by work instructions
• Fill out part identification tags
• Move parts using pallet jacks, hoists, or forklifts
• Maintain cleanliness of the work area
• Identify and document downtime
• Identify and document scrap
• Assist other operators as needed during change overs, coil changes or when needed to resolve problems during a run

QUALIFICATIONS

• To perform this job satisfactorily, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
• Ability to read and understand technical instructions
• Good eye hand coordination
• Basic math skills
• Experience with hand held measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers
• Ability to be trained to set up coils and set dies
• Positive attitude/team player
• Must have experience in die changeover and set up of Stamping Presses.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Minimum one year related experience and /or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• High school diploma or GED required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS Effectively communicate and understand job instructions both verbally and written in the English language.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to perform basic mathematical computations. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS Ability to lift 50 lbs. when required. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb ladders and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT Air conditioned work environment. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those and employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
