JOB SUMMARY:
Is responsible to ensure adequate and appropriate staffing of the facility nursing department to meet the needs of the residents based on budget, census, and as may be directed by facility administration. The Staffing Coordinator is delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out assigned duties.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain a current listing of all resident care employee phone numbers.
- Maintain daily tardy and absenteeism calendars.
- Report to Director of Nursing (DON) and Human Resources Director all employees with excess tardiness or absenteeism in accordance with the facility policy.
- Work with Human Resources Director and DON when scheduling modified work duty employees in accordance with work restrictions and facility policy.
- Complete monthly nursing schedule coordinating requests to ensure appropriate coverage of department.
- Complete and publish schedules in a timely manner. Coordinate variances with Administrator.
- Provides appropriate notification of schedule to employee, contract agency, supervisor, and others as appropriate.
- Monitors overtime of employees after receiving prior approval from the Administrator.
- Responds to emergency calls and arranges schedule accordingly.
- Review timesheets for accurate hours and compare to schedule.
- Assigns agency staff, if necessary, after receiving prior approval from the Administrator.
- Follows up with employee on scheduling problems.
- Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
