The Role You Play

A Staff Nurse at PMHS is typically working clinic hours of Monday to Friday, 8-5PM. Our nurses assist our provider team with psychiatric medication management and provide guidance to patients about those medications.

• The Day-to-Day
  1. Provide onsite nursing support to medical staff according to scope of license and/or certification
  2. Handling medication phone calls or emails regarding general information, side effects, and other questions complaints and concerns
  3. Ordering and giving injections on a weekly basis
  4. Taking vitals for all in-office patient visits
• Other Duties As Assigned
  1. Manage sample medications as sent by medical salespeople
  2. Assist clients with applications for patient assistance in partner drug company programs

Who You Are

While we prefer someone with prior behavioral health or Outpatient Clinic experience, we are willing to train for the right candidate! We are also looking for a nurse with strong customer service skills who is flexible – you may float to cover other offices as needed – and looking for a slower paced, outpatient environment.

• Required
  1. Current, unencumbered Kansas Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) certification
  2. Strong oral and written communication skills using the English language
  3. Basic personal computing skills
• Preferred
  1. Knowledge of psychotropic medications and the specific needs of Mental Health patients
  2. Bi-lingual capabilities
  3. Experience with Microsoft Office software
