Northrop Grumman's Space Systems - Propulsion Division is looking for a Staff Mission Assurance Chief Engineer (MACE) to join our team at the Promontory or Bacchus (Magna) UT facility.

Description & responsibilities:

This Mission Assurance Chief Engineer (MACE) safety focus is responsible for all EHS and Security compliance for CPS. The MACE is accountable to assure program EHS and Security needs are allocated and implemented through our systems and will engage across S&MA organizations and into other organizations to assure EHS and security contract requirements are met on time and within budget.

Senior customer, government, and DCMA interface is a key part of this position with the MACE being a primary contact for EHS and security matters. Responsibilities include ensuring resources across S&MA are provided when and where needed to support contractual compliance and Program success. You will lead efforts to develop, communicate and implement the S&MA vision, value, strategy, goals, budgets, and metrics to help meet business and program objectives. Travel to our Clearfield and Promontory facilities may be required.

+ Daily interface with program leadership,

+ Engineering, Safety and Quality organizations is required.

+ Regular customer interface is required to assure all customer requirements are being met.

Minimum Requirements:

+ Bachelors in EHS or closely related science or technology degree

+ Minimum of 14 years with BS, 12 years with an MS or 9 with a Ph.D.

+ Increasingly responsibility of rocket motor or aerospace design, manufacturing and/or EHS experience

+ Strong working knowledge of EHS and security policies, procedures, and processes

+ Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and with customers

+ Comfort and success working across organizational boundaries

+ Strong organization, planning, execution and budget management skills

+ Demonstrated ability to lead from within teams

+ Ability to effectively prioritize competing and demanding priorities to assure contractual compliance and satisfy S&MA requirements

+ Ability to craft solutions to meet program unique requirements while maintaining compliance to HOPS and DoD 4145.

+ Proficiency with control of budgets, preferable within Earned Value Management (EVMS)

+ Must be a U.S citizen

Preferred Requirements:

+ Advanced EHS degree

+ Previous safety engineering experience

+ Working knowledge of the SA-22, HOPS, DoD 4145, DoD 5100, and EMS processes

+ Ability to get things done through formal and informal channels.

+ Ability to get things done through others without directly supervising them

+ Previous experience with both Strategic and Hypersonic

+ Working knowledge of contract proposals/language

Salary Range: $139,000 - $208,600

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
