As a Staff Cloud Engineer you will the infrastructure as code mindset to build cloud resources that host software to meet business and customer needs. You will be participating in the creation of foundational services and platforms that will enable consistent and safe delivery of products in cloud environments. You will interact daily with various teams across HCA enterprise to help them along their journey to adopting cloud.

General Responsibilities:

  • Manage and take workflow direction from manager, senior engineers, and product leadership.
  • Follow design best practices and assist troubleshooting design related issues.
  • Follow service management standards for cloud.
  • Follow and understand cloud reference architectures.
  • Assist with the development of automated tools / scripts for use across the enterprise.
  • Maintain and support Nexus Repository, CI/CD pipelines, and lifecycle.
  • Provide support for Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE)
  • Participate on a team designing, developing and testing IaC solutions for IaaS and PaaS solutions for on-prem or Cloud platforms
  • Work closely with customers to develop robust and reusable configuration management components
  • Support workload migration activities to cloud.
  • Adherence to all HCA standards and policies.

Education, Experience and Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Information Systems – Preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in a Systems Engineering, Architecture or Development – Required
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert – Preferred
  • Microsoft Azure Fundamentals – Preferred
  • Google Cloud Engineer – Preferred
  • Google Cloud Architect – Preferred
  • Terraform Associate – Preferred

Other Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in system administration for both Linux and Windows environments.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing
  • Expertise in managing and configuring Sonatype Nexus Repository Manager, including repository setup, user management, permissions, and integration with development tools.
  • Experience with Defining, configuring and managing Policies in Nexus IQ/firewall/Lifecycle products or similar.
  • Familiarity with repository management concepts, including artifact storage, version control, dependency management, and repository formats like Maven, npm, Docker, and others.
  • Proficiency in Kubernetes fundamentals, including cluster architecture, pod management, deployments, services, networking, and storage.
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, container runtime environments, and container orchestration tools.
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes resource management and optimization techniques to ensure efficient resource utilization and scalability.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes networking concepts, including Service Meshes, Ingress controllers, and Network Policies.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like Bash, PowerShell, or Python for automation tasks related to configuration and management.
  • Understanding of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and their integration with Nexus repositories.
  • In-depth knowledge of security principles and practices, including firewalls, access control, encryption, and authentication mechanisms
