In the outpatient setting, the Staff Clinician II- CD utilizes therapeutic skills to assess the psychosocial functioning of clients with a substance use disorder and provides interventional strategies through group and individual therapy to assist clients in mobilizing their resources so they can participate in the exploration of their illness and its ramifications. Considers clients’ attitudes and feelings and develops alternative solutions to support informed decision making. Participates in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and provides educational seminars and in-service trainings that may be beneficial and/or required.
EducationMust have a Master's degree in psychology, addictions, social work, or other counseling related field.
Licensure/CertificationCPI required within 60 days of employment. CPR required within 30 days of employment. LCAC, MAC or LCA required. Licensure and certifications must be kept current.
Experience2 years in the health care, substance use disorder or social service field, psychiatric hospital experience preferred.
Other QualificationsMust be available to work flexible hours and days of the week including weekends and evenings. Must have good verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to lift 50 pounds; 100 pounds shared lifting.
