The Health Care Stablization Fund (HCSF) is accepting applications for a Staff Attorney positionThe Staff Attorney is responsible for litigation and claims management involving millions of dollars per year.
Reviews business entity documentation to determine eligibility for Fund participation and coverage. Collaborates with Compliance Section personnel to address business entity inquiries from insurance agents and health care providers.
Does legal research, prepares reports, and assists in completing other assigned duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner.
Qualifications:
- Education: Degree from a four-year college or university and Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in claims handling or insurance law is helpful.
- In order to perform the duties of Staff Attorney, the individual must possess a thorough knowledge of the Health Care Provider Insurance Availability Act as well as general knowledge of rules pertaining to professional liability lawsuits. In addition, this position requires a thorough understanding of the Professional Corporation Law of Kansas and the Kansas Revised Limited Liability Company Act.
