We are searching for a talented Staff Attorney to handle our legal transactions, partnerships, and projects. Your principal goal will be to ensure all Trident business transactions comply with state laws and regulations, while actively assessing all possible legal risks, violations, and compliance concerns. Other duties include but are not limited to: consulting on and reviewing all corporate legal processes such as compliance, transactions, partnerships, and general legal matters.
A successful candidate is articulate and a creative problem-solver with outstanding negotiation and communication skills. Leadership experience, sharp attention to detail, excellent writing skills, ability to work collaboratively amongst a team and employees at all levels, an amazing personality, and a work ethic that will not quit are a must-have for this position.
Essential Duties/Tasks:
- Render legal advice and service.
- Prepare required documents for business or contractor operations in the applicable state.
- Interprets and advises on statutes, regulations, and executive orders.
- Analyze contract and supporting documents to assure that completed contracts are in conformance with basic principles of contract law and applicable directives and regulations.
- Counsels in matters of contractual rights and obligations which might become the subject matter of future disputes and litigation, and prepares written documents such as legal briefs, opinions, and legal memorandums.
- Evaluate new business partnerships with vendors and subcontractors.
- Represent Trident in basic legal proceedings.
- Coordinate with external business partners, legal counsel, and other contacts as required to best represent Trident's business interests.
- Coordinate with federal, state, county, municipal, and local government agencies and organizations as required to process and ensure compliance regarding Trident's business, special security contractor, and other licenses.
- Review, comment, and provide guidance regarding Trident's company insurance policies and real estate policies and transactions.
- Design and oversee Trident's policy and position on legal matters.
- Protect Trident against legal risks and violations.
- Examine the legal issues related to new products and services.
- Negotiate on behalf of Trident.
- Guide management on regulatory and compliance issues to ensure compliance with legal regulations.
- Office hours will involve long hours on a computer / laptop and using a computer keyboard and attendance at routine meetings, in person and virtual.
- Regularly required to sit, stand and walk; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone.
- Routine travel to Trident business locations is required / 20%.
- The Staff Attorney reports directly to the CEO.
