Silicon Valley Medical Development is currently seeking Staff Advice Nurses to join our growing healthcare team!
Location: San Jose, CA
Schedule: Hybrid-One day in the Clinic/ 4 days remote upon completion of training.
Pay: $64.00- $75.00/ hour

The Registered Nurse I (RN I) provides appropriate care to patients and their families in a compassionate and professional manner. She/he assists the patients care team in implementing the medical plan of care.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Evaluate the health questions and health concerns of assigned patients and care plans.
- Respond to patient advice messages in the In Basket requiring clinical input and knowledge.
- Advise patients on health conditions and health maintenance plans.
- Communicate with patients via the phone and / or the EMR to resolve patient needs.
- Identify and notify other care team members of their potential involvement in the patient care plan.
- Communicate with front office and / or call center staff of their potential involvement in the patient care plan.
- Escalate patient needs to a provider (Physician Associate, Nurse Practitioner, and / or physician) when advice is outside of the scope of practice of the registered nurse
- Document the recommended care plan in the EMR.
- Ensure the urgent and necessary In Basket messages are addressed in the appropriate manner and timeframe.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Assist providers (physicians and / or APC(APPs)) during examinations and procedures.
- Perform various patient tests and administer medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse.
- Promote independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program
- Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license
- 2 years of nursing experience in acute care or ambulatory care setting
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association
- Proficiency with an EMR
