Staff Accountant

Western Nassau Wholesale Distribution Construction Company seeks Staff Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated individual to join our team as a Staff Accountant. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in our accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in accounting principles, excellent Excel skills, and a keen eye for detail.

• Assisting the preparation of all financial reporting [cash flow projections; check runs; P&L reports; Book Balance; AP/AR Reporting; etc].
• Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts.
• Reconcile vendor & client statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
• Performing ongoing analysis of operating results to identify trends, opportunities and areas of improvement.
• Developing advanced reporting of operational data to allow for improved processes and systems
• Work with accounting staff in creation of spreadsheets to ensure accuracy of and efficient distribution of financial reports and other data important to day-to-day operations of organization.
• Identifying and addressing financial risks and opportunities for the company.
• Assist with the daily operations of the accounting department
• Assist and coordinate with the Company's external auditors, bankers and insurance brokers; coordinate all audit activities and filing of corporate tax returns
• Develop and implement internal controls and procedures to improve and maintain the financial health of the company
• Handle all aspects of Payroll, Commission for sales personnel.
• Experience with Sales and Use Tax, including Sales tax procedures of contactors.

Salary negotiable depending on experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
