Under the direction of the Property Controller, the Staff Accountant I projects and supports daily workflow by creating summary spreadsheets for daily information output while ensuring that general ledger accounts are reconciled. The successful candidate will also prepare management accounting reports; work on special projects as needed; and perform multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and promptly.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Timely and accurate recording of entry-level journal entries in accordance with the corporate closing schedule.
- Research and document retrieval to support Senior Staff
- Timely and accurate preparation of entry-level assigned balance sheet reconciliations.
- Timely research of reconciling items with exceptions reported to Senior Staff for review and consultation.
- Collect and Deposit Cash
- Balance Daily Reports, Research and Correct Errors
- Daily Bank and Credit Card Reconciliations
- Meet with Brinks
- Bank Count of the Main Safe
- Pull backup for credit card disputes.
- Carry out any reasonable requests by management that the employee is capable of performing.
Experience:
- Minimum of five years experience in a month-end close general ledger environment.
Education & Certifications:
- Must have an Associate Degree in either Accounting or Finance (Accounting strongly preferred)
Skills/Knowledge:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures in English.
- Ability to write procedure manuals
- Ability to manage time well to assist with financial reporting department deadlines.
- Entry-level knowledge of various accounting software
- Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Highly Organized
- Detail oriented
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
- Ability to work independently and in a group environment (team player)
