Staff Accountant

Elevate is looking for a Staff Accountant to join its financial reporting team. The position reports to the Financial Reporting Lead and provides diversified accounting services associated with the monthly financial close process. This role will support the Shared Services accounting team. In order to be successful, the Staff Accountant must frequently interact with key stakeholders throughout the Company (e.g., shared services financial reporting and accounting teams, IS, Treasury, FP&A, AR, AP).

Primary Responsibilities: 

• Supporting the routine financial statement close and reporting process
• Preparing accounting schedules and reconciliations to meet consolidation and reporting deadlines as needed
• Providing reports and analyses needed by key stakeholders and management
• Analyzing financial information and summarizing financial data, identifying errors and helping resolve issues on a timely basis including review of sub-ledger reconciliations
• Supporting the implementation of process improvements
• Assisting during audit period in response to audit inquiries
• Performing additional job-related duties and preparing special accounting projects, reports and analyses as assigned
• Assist in researching technical guidance for support of new accounting standards

Desired Qualifications:

• BS degree in Accounting
• One to three years of experience in accounting, finance or audit
• Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures
• Familiarity with financial accounting statements
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
• Aptitude for researching accounting pronouncements and technical guidance for implementing new accounting standards
• Excellent problem solving and time management skills, highly organized and proactive
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Driven by the opportunity to embrace change, process improvement and development of other professionals
• Comfortable working individually and as part of team
• Appropriate professional presence and tact
• Strong written and verbal skills required
• Foreign language skills a plus
• Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
• Hands-on experience with OneStream, CODA and JD Edwards systems a plus
