Staff Accountant- Entry Level

Dealers Transmission Exchange (“DTE”) is searching for an experienced Staff Accountant for their headquarters in Addison, IL. This is a full-cycle accounting role and as the Staff Accountant you will be involved in all aspects of accounting. As we are a small office, the position will interact with colleagues at all levels of the organization as well as outside stakeholders. A successful candidate will have excellent focus, high energy, enthusiasm, and strong communication and organizational skills. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, able to multi-task, and will be a self-starter who will take the initiative to proactively identify and resolve challenges.
As the Staff Accountant you are responsible for:

• Monthly close process including preparing monthly journal entries and account analysis
• Daily cash position reporting and monthly reconciliation of banking statements
• Performing monthly reconciliation and analysis of balance sheet accounts
• Resolving accounting discrepancies and irregularities
• Assisting management in tracking and forecasting expense activity
• Interacting with auditors for external financial audit
• Assisting with documentation of business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Supporting management with KPI’s reporting calculations

To be successful in the role you must possess:

• A degree in accounting from an accredited four-year college or university is required, CPA a plus
• 2-4 years of experience in a corporate environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Self-motivated hands-on team player with a “can-do” mentality
• Willingness and desire to improve processes
• Experience with Great Plains preferred but not required
