Staff Accountant - Carson, Ca

Summary/Objective:

In this role, the Staff Accountant is responsible for performing accounting for the organization; performing account analysis, and reconciliations.

• Compile and analyze financial information to prepare general ledger entries
• Provide financial analyses as needed
• Assist the Corporate Controller with the day-to-day, monthly and year-end operations of the Accounting/ Finance Department
• Reconcile bank statements and balance sheet accounts
• Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
• Assist with month-end process.
• Prepare journal entries.
• Develop and implement accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures and recommending changes.
• Manage AP/AR process with the other accounting staff
• Maintain accurate account and data reconciliation including supporting sub-ledgers, journals, and other financial documentation within a cost-efficient operation.
• Perform such other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required from time to time by the Division Controller.

Required Education and Experience

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited college or university required.
• 1-2 years of previous accounting experience.
• Logistics experience preferred, but not required.
• Accounting knowledge of account balancing and reconciliation skills
• Excellent in interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Must be detailed oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills
• Must be able to work effectively with minima oversight, while also functioning in a team environment.
• Computer literacy with MS Office Suite is essential
