Staff Accountant

Real Estate Company -

As a Senior Staff Accountant, you will play a vital role in our accounting department, responsible for updating property records, processing transactions, reconciling accounts, and tracking investments. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data for properties spanning 2022-2023.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Review and analyze HUD statements to extract relevant financial information.
2. Update property records and financial transactions for the years 2022-2023 in QuickBooks Online.
3. Process transactions accurately, including joint ventures, investments, and other financial activities.
4. Prepare and post journal entries to reflect property transactions and adjustments.
5. Reconcile bank statements, accounts receivable, and accounts payable for properties.
6. Maintain organized and up-to-date bookkeeping records for properties under management.
7. Collaborate with team members to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of property investments.
8. Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including financial statement preparation.
9. Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
10. Support audit processes by providing documentation and explanations as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in accounting, preferably with a focus on property accounting.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to read and interpret HUD statements effectively.
• Strong understanding of journal entries, reconciliation, and bookkeeping principles.
• Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Software - Excel (pivot tables/V-lookups preferred)

Client will be converting to NetSuite in 3 months

Client prefers if they have "Property Accounting" experience.

If they have worked with "APP Folio" they would be great!!

Schedule - Flexible

Monday-Friday 7am-3pm, 8am-5pm, 9am-7pm

Payrate - open starting at 25$

Temp/Temp to hire - Great career opportunity, the office is so beautiful, great culture.

Accounting division is small, 3-5 at the Ontario office

Onsite - down the line it can turn into a Hybrid role as long as they are willing to put in the work
