The Staff Accountant will:
- Perform varied Accounts Payable duties including vendor set up and data entry.
- Review vendor bills for accuracy and allocated to appropriate general ledger codes and related budgets.
- Maintain unearned revenue schedules and recognize earnings on game schedule.
- Perform monthly reconciliations, i.e. bank, balance sheet and credit card(s). Reconcile statements, research and follow up with vendors on outstanding invoices and credits to ensure accounts are in good standing.
- Maintain assets register and depreciation schedule.
- Ensures financial data is complete and accurate for reporting and compliant with GAAP requirements.
- Recommend adjustments where needed, i.e. financial reporting adjustments, systems integrations considerations, identify streamlining opportunities, etc.
- Post daily bank and/or credit card feed transactions to general ledger, after reviewing for accuracy and budget coding.
- Maintain a daily Cash Report and recommend vendor payments.
- Will be an active part of month-end and annual closes.
- Assist with year-end audits and 1099 processing.
- Perform special assignments as requested.
- Ad hoc duties and special projects as necessary.
- Degree in accounting is preferred.
- High energy, dynamic professional who requires minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail; self-starter with the ability to adapt quickly.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite tools, especially Excel.
- Enjoys muti-tasking; has a good attitude and gets along with others.
- Experience writing formulas, Pivot Tables, Lookups and Data Analysis using Excel.
- Strong experience with QuickBooks Online, Bill.com/Cash Flow 360, and Expensify preferred.
- Strong communication, customer service and organizational skills

Location:
This role is primarily based at our Falls Church, VA office, with occasional work in Washington, D.C. Our front office team follows a hybrid arrangement, requiring presence in the office 3 days a week.
