Staff Accountant

POSITION SUMMARY

The Staff Accountant is responsible for the direct accounting activities of GT Independence, at the direction of the Controller.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

• Preparation of all corporate payroll tax filings and 401k deposits
• Monthly preparation of bank reconciliations for all bank accounts
• Prepares or directs the preparation of reports which summarize business activity and financial position in all financial areas
• Prepare W-2’s and 1099’s for internal employees
• Preparation and payment of Field Service Representatives commissions
• Preparation of reconciliations for general ledger accounts in conjunction with monthly internal financial statement preparation
• Assist in annual financial statement and 401k audits
• Assist with all state and federal audits
• Projects as necessary

EDUCATION

• Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Finance/Accounting

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

• At least 2 years of experience relevant to the work performed
• CPA preferred but not required
• Experience with Microsoft Office Products, specifically Great Plains
• Ability to oversee and manage multiple tasks
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong ability to analyze data
• Near acuity for checking and copying figures
