HeartLand, LLC is seeking a highly motivated and customer-driven professional to join our growing Mountain West Regional Accounting team as a Staff Accountant in Boise, ID.

The Opportunity:
The Regional Staff Accountant is responsible for various accounting functions as directed by the Regional Controller. The Staff Accountant focuses on managing the general ledger within Acumatica, our ERP system, reconciling account balances, and performing month-end close procedures. The Staff Accountant will also demonstrate proficiency in spotting errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency.
The position reports to the Regional Controller, and focuses on the following two areas:
Managing General Ledger:
- Perform month end close process
- Reconcile monthly Revenue and COGS to Aspire (production system)
- Reconcile bank accounts
- Record Payroll entries into Acumatica
- Reserve bad debt in accordance with corporate policies
- Perform balance sheet account analysis and reconciliations
- Review financial statements for accuracy
- Provide monthly, quarterly, and year end reports
Other Accounting Functions:
- Compile and organize information for Heartland’s annual external audit
- Monitor cash and funding balances
- Ensure collections are being performed on a consistent basis and assist with referral of delinquent accounts to counsel as needed.
- Assist in the integration of new regional companies to Heartland’s production and ERP systems.
- Develop and document accounting procedures to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Special projects as assigned
Key Performance Metrics
The Staff Accountant will be evaluated on their ability to demonstrate exceptional leadership, reflecting the operational objectives of the organization. Specific areas of evaluation include:
- Maintaining excellent controls within our ERP system Acumatica, as supported by a direct tie-out between our production system and Acumatica.
- Achieving a complete and accurate financial close, while meeting deadlines monthly.
- Ensure aged receivables stay within a threshold set by Heartland Corporate
- Exhibiting leadership by providing positive guidance for associate staff, implementing efficiencies as appropriate.

- Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of accounting experience.
- If no college degree, then a minimum of 5 years accounting work experience.
- Preferably have experience with Aspire or similar industry software.
