Job Description
RESPONSIBILITY AND AUTHORITY:
- Prepares reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
- Completes payroll processing on a bi-weekly pay period basis.
- Maintains the general ledger, assists as necessary with accounts receivable and accounts payable.
- Analyzes financial transactions to ensure they are recorded to the appropriate general ledger accounts, location and funds and makes any necessary corrections to journal entries as needed to properly reflect the financial position of the Company.
- Completes (or oversees) all financial transactions are entered into general ledger accounts needed for bank reconciliations on a monthly basis.
- Reviews financial reports and prepare all necessary accrual entries to ensure financial statements are complete, accurate and in compliance with GAAP.
- Reviews prepaid balance sheet accounts monthly and ensure that all necessary entries are complete to produce financial statements that are accurate and in compliance with GAAP.
- Summarizes quarterly analyses and prepares monthly accrual entries to assure adequate balance sheet provision.
- Reconciles each fund balance monthly assuring appropriate financial transaction aligns with budget for each grant.
- Participates in monthly financial statement review to ensure accuracy of reporting and compliance with GAAP.
- Maintains the fixed asset system.
- Maintain lease accounting per current GAAP guidelines utilizing Lease Crunch software for monthly general ledger entry into MIP fund accounting software.
- Maintains knowledge of new applicable laws and regulations that apply to the accounting function and healthcare industry.
- Completes necessary reporting for 403b year end testing acting as liaison between Company and contract firm preparing testing and 5500.
- Prepares necessary spreadsheets and backup for year end audit.
- Completes special projects as assigned by CFO.
- Supervises accounting staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS:
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
- Experience in accounting for medical office desirable.
- Fund accounting experience desirable.
- 340b experience, desirable.
- Functional knowledge of spreadsheet, accounting and word processing software.
- Must be detail oriented with good analytical, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to work with upper management.
- Experience with general ledger, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
