SalaryIn Search of Part-Time Stable Hand/Barn Help:
Responsibilities include general tasks of equine stable management: quality stall cleaning of 8 to 16 stalls, clean/fill waterers, feeding, prepping/making feed for next feeding, blanketing, turn in and turn out etc. Additional tasks would likely include property maintenance such as weedeating, weeding, mowing, keeping farm clean overall, etc. Also, need to be willing to help on hay crew.
Experience/Skills: Some horse experience, safe horse handling, willingness to learn, self-motivation, reliability, honesty, and transportation. Applicant must be a hard worker, a team player, have an eye for detail, and needs to make excellent care of our horses priority number one. Important to be able to follow instructions and keep up-to-date on changes to turnout, feeding, etc.
MUST BE able to stay off cell phone while working.
MUST BE willing and able to work in inclement weather.
Job Type: Part-time (up to 30 hours per week)
Experience:
- Equine: 6 months minimum or equivalent farming background
