GENERAL FUNCTION
The WCF (Wafer Cut and Form) Senior Technician is the on shift process expert for the operation of the automated and manual processes to cut, dry, preheat, form and store wafers while maintaining a safe and positive work environment
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure department follows all safety requirements as called out in area specific Job Safety Analysis
- Set up and operate Preco press to cut wafers from laminate based on a schedule or Kan Ban
- Load, manage timing and unload drying ovens
- Load wafer canisters and operate automated feed stations
- Load inline ovens on non automated lines
- Perform setup and changeovers on LEMA forming machines
- Operate automated and manual LEMA forming machines
- Respond to automation faults when needed to restart equipment
- Manage finished wafer inventory to ensure proper conditioning time
- Perform and record checks for key process parameters
- Perform and record quality audits on wafers for color, thickness, x/y dimensions, base curve, edge quality and other specifications as required
- Supports the deployment of the LIFE principles; Safety, Visual Management, 5S, Standard Work, Process Excellence and Problem Solving
- Responsible for ensuring the proper amounts of consumables and supplies are on hand
- Facilitates GO meetings at start of shift
- Trains WCF Technicians on all aspects of the WCF process
- Performs and/or supports incoming testing of laminate sheets
- Ensure communication between shifts
- Tracks die life and ensures proper quantities are on hand
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma/ GED or equivalent
- 3-5 years of similar experience
- Proficient with Excel and Word
- Proficient with MES application
- Excellent computer skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Equipment troubleshooting
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Ability to work well within the team
- Strong Interpersonal skills
- Train the Trainer and TWI/JI certifications
- Ability to analyze data
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma/GED
