Sr. Station Technician, Inventory

The Station Technician, Inventory will coordinate and execute seed trial preparation including but not limited to maintaining accurate seed inventory records, receiving and removing seed from inventory, preparing seed according to trial manager or breeder instructions, printing and filling plot envelopes, and shipping seed. On Full-time basis, locating in Kimberly Technicians will work with regulated and GMO seed and related stewardship and government records. They will request and train/oversee temporary workers when workloads demand increased manpower. Technicians will have strong set of computer skills, record-keeping organization, and will use a variety of established devices/programs, for recording and managing work steps and records, so that seed can be tracked through various processing steps. They will mix apply and or train/oversee standard seed treatments and use standard PPE when handling chemicals. They are responsible for reviewing incoming seed quality and reporting substandard seed to management. Occasional travel may be required; must meet attendance requirements and other duties as assigned.
Essential Job Functions:

• Organize and sort plant material to ensure setup and planting arrangement is done accurately.
• Operate the required proprietary software for data collection.
• Direct and operate planting and harvest equipment including proprietary technology and equipment, which will include commercial vehicles and forklifts.
• May train, and supervise seasonal and temporary workers and coordinate work schedules as needed.
• Keep detailed records of activities, which include regulatory records and utilize correct reporting methods.
• Assist with equipment and vehicle maintenance.
• Organize, direct and apply pesticides to field sites under the direction of qualified personnel as needed.
• Ensure Company handbook, Rules, Guidelines and Procedures and safety policies are followed and personal protective equipment is used correctly.
• Travel and/or drive on behalf of the business.
• Meet attendance requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required qualifications:

• Associates Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in agriculture or greenhouse.
• One or more years of experience in specific tasks being conducted by the stations.
• Ability to work variable hours as needed, including overtime/extra days, during busy times.
• Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving history.
• Ability to work independently and within a team with flexibility.
• Safe work practices, including to occasionally use gloves or vapor mask, for chemical protection.
• Strong computer and numerical aptitude, with attention to detail, including printing seed packets according to instructions by orderers.
