Position Title: Senior Staff Engineer (Req# 2228484)
Job Description:
Drive development, testing, deployment, and iterative improvement of product capabilities and collaboration with designers, product owners, and other engineers on the product team. Lead application design, implementation and testing new features. Lead technical aspects of the product lifecycle, development strategy, recommendations of best practice including code, infrastructure, data, security, and deployment. Create sizing and estimates for new project requests. Maintain estimate documents for approved projects as they move through the Solution Delivery Process. Work on providing recommendations for Key Design Decisions for Workday Implementation. Partner with the Solution Delivery team on solution approaches to large and complex project requests. Partner with Enterprise Architecture on the creation of Conceptual Architecture and Full Architecture documents for assigned projects. Author Technical Designs (TDs) that define how a functional design will be technically enabled for assigned projects. Provide solution oversight to the extended product team during the build, test, and implementation of assigned projects. Perform Design reviews with other technical and functional team members and may perform similar reviews with peers and other teams. Responsible for mentoring less senior staff members in estimation and design approaches. Provide technical viewpoints during key interactions with external vendors including the generation of RFPs, vendor selections, vendor roadmap discussions, and other key processes; may act as the lead technical contact with one of more external vendors. Build strong relationships with the Enterprise Architecture and Solution Delivery teams to understand business challenges and collaborates on application and technical roadmaps. Provide strategic technical insight with respect to Workday HCM modules and share expertise on integration requirements for cross functional initiatives. May provide application guidance to the production support team to resolve support issues. Responsible for mentoring one or more junior team members. Position is fixed location based in Marlborough office; however, telecommuting from a home office may also be allowed.
Job Requirements:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a directly related field plus seven (7) years of experience in an IT role or related occupation.
Must have four (4) years of experience in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently):
- Workday HCM Cloud Solutions
- Designing, Building, Testing, and Deploying Workday Integration solutions using EIB, Core Connectors, XSLT Transformation, Cloud Connect and Workday Studio
- Core Java, SOAP and REST APIs for Workday
- Business Process Configurations, Worklets, Dashboards, Advanced Reporting and BIRT for Workday
- Analytics: Custom Dashboards and Reports
- Workday HCM report writing, dashboard development, worklet configuration, and calculated fields.
- Core HCM, Payroll, Benefits, Recruiting, Time Tracking, Absence Management, Compensation, Performance Management, and Learning modules.
- As a technical lead on at least one full life-cycle implementation with Workday HCM modules
