Position Responsibilities:

• Develop a Technology Roadmap for EVC platforms and solutions.
• Develop an architectural plan for transforming the EVC platforms and solutions over time to simplify the architecture and add functionality.
• Develop effective architectural presentations, product design documentation and proofs-of-concepts to drive architectural standards into the EVC products.
• Maintain thorough understanding of the EV marketplace and what factors influence the market and customer decisions related to product features and functionality.
• Introduction and training of DFS EVC platforms and solutions, including partner systems.
• Deliver ongoing EVC product and systems presentations to product and sales teams.
• Develop strategies to improve the effectiveness of EVC systems and EVC systems development.
• Develop improved processes for EVC systems development including regionalization and 3rd party integration.
• Collaborate with product managers and other stakeholders to define the architecture for software & software-enabled services, support definition of product roadmaps and solution capabilities outside the platform.
• Lead the design, implementation, and test of embedded software components and systems used in the global EV charging industry.
• Collaborate with business partners and customers to analyze customer requirements, define system technical specifications, and design, develop & enhance embedded software and firmware to optimize system performance and reliability.
• Actively learns about emerging technologies and latest developments in the market - competitor space; engages in customer analysis in support of EVC platform and solutions.
• Proactively evaluate third party and open-source software modules.
• Support site deployment issues.
• Provide oversight during performance testing of prototypes in laboratory and environmental simulations to diagnose and resolve engineering issues.
• Work with agency engineers to ensure compliance with certifying agency standards.
• Coordinate and assist with resolution of complex service and vehicle interoperability issues.
• Work closely with solutions team to make firmware modifications to existing platforms to ensure compliancy to all electric vehicle charging standards and protocols such as OCPP and ISO 15118.
• Support Level 3 technical claims via remote and onsite support as necessary.

Qualification Requirements:

• BSc, BEng, or MSc in Electrical Engineering or Software Engineering.
• Willingness to use a hands-on approach for prototype and customer testing of software.
• Experience with embedded Linux OS.
• Experience with agile and scrum principles, values, and processes.
• Experience with PLC, I2C, SPI.
• Experience with C++, C, Python.
• The successful candidate will have eight (8) years of software development experience.
• The successful candidate will have five (5) years of product software architecture with an emphasis on solution architecture.
• The successful candidate will have three (3) years of EVC product development experience.
• The successful candidate will have three (3) years of embedded product development experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Preferred experience developing and testing electronic components for electric vehicle charging.
• Knowledgeable and experience with Cloud platforms - Microsoft Azure.
• Preferred experience with OCPP and ISO 15118.

• Ability to find bottlenecks and thresholds in existing code with the help of automation tools.
• Ability to quickly gain domain knowledge, focus on prioritizing opportunities for test automation and build stable and repeatable automation frameworks and scripts.
• Ability to meet deadlines; accomplish work in order of priority.
• Ability to negotiate conflict and maintain constructive working relationships with people at all levels of an organization (both inside and outside the company).
• A wide degree of latitude and creativity is expected.
