Role Summary

The Magna Mechatronics, Mirrors & Lighting Communication Senior Specialist will be based in our Troy, Michigan location. Reporting to the Marketing Manager, this individual will work collaboratively across various functions and teams to execute globally integrated, strategic, modern, and impactful communications that align with the organization’s business objectives and priorities. In addition, this individual will implement effective communication strategies supporting key messaging, vision, business plan and priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute the groups global communications strategy to maximize reach and increase engagement.
  • Own and be point of contact for internal, external, and social communication channels 
  • Manage content creation by mining for stories, interviewing subject matter experts, and drafting materials (employee spotlights, blogs, video scripts, leadership messages, etc.).
  • Champion usage of internal communication platforms for the group visibility and engagement (MagNET, MagnaNOW, Cerkl, MyLife, etc.)
  • Maintain and draft content for the groups MagNET (intranet) page and section on Magna’s website.
  • Assist in planning and executing social media strategy for the group to support promoting technologies, initiatives, targeted recruitment initiatives, and company brand positioning. 
  • Expert on social media campaigns by working with internal and external partners to drive KPIs is a plus
  • Monitor and measure impact of PR activities 
  • Coordinate and support internal conferences and workshops as necessary.
  • Support global marketing activities as needed.
  • Other duties as required.
  • Enforcement of Magna International Corporate identification standards globally.  
  • Upholds the principles of the Magna Employee’s Charter, Magna’s Operational Principles, Magna’s 
  • Environmental Health and Safety Policy & Procedures, Magna Closures, Mirrors, and Lighting Quality 
  • Policy, Program Execution Process and Business Protocols.  Must understand and respect the laws and 
  • cultures in countries which Magna conducts business & Magna compliances.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

Key Qualifications/Requirements


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • University Degree (Bachelor’s) in Marketing or Business


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to lead global projects and work harmoniously in a multi-cultural environment
  • Experience developing and implementing impactful communications programs to drive engagement.
  • Results oriented, strong sense of urgency, collaborative, proactive and flexible.
  • Ability to work under pressure on multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Great work ethic with strong motivation and aptitude towards the highest level of quality.
  • High level usage of MS Office programs and SharePoint is desirable.
  • Willingness to travel globally as required.
