Job Title: Sr. Software/Application Developer

Job Description: SimIS seeks a Sr. Software/Application Developer to support the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) Unified Platform program office (UP). AFLMC/UP is responsible for developing and sustaining a cloud-based platform that enables cyber operations across the Department of Defense (DoD). UP provides USCYBERCOM Operational Forces a Joint cyber operations infrastructure enabling full spectrum cyberspace operations at the operational through tactical levels of warfare as part of USCYBERCOM’s Joint Cyber Warfighting Architecture (JCWA). The Sr. Software/Application Developer provides expertise with expertise in developing front/back-end applications that users directly interact with.  

Duty Requirements: 

  • Expertise in implementing common services, such as enterprise identity, credential, and access management, collaboration/project management tools, and process automations. 

  • Plans and manages the development of software IT service-compliant prototypes and technical documentation, specifications, and user guides.  

  • Evaluates R&D prototypes, technical documents, and proposals, serving as task lead for specific technical projects, and providing expert knowledge and experience in IT service applications and governance.    

  • Applies scripting and programming languages (e.g., JavaScript, Python, Java, C#) to develop and implement IT governance.  

  • Uses client-side web apps to develop IT-applications for web front-ends (e.g., HTML, HTML5, JS, CSS, SASS).   

  • of developing software using the .NET and/or Java; of and experience in integrating software applications with database systems. 

  • Interprets results from multiple sources using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation via statistical analysis to complex data mining independently; designs, develops and implements the most valuable business cloud solutions for the organization. 

 Experience Required: 

  • Master’s Degree in Information Technology, cybersecurity or related field. 

  • 10 years’ experience leading the design, development, and maintenance of user-facing software applications. 

  • 5 years’ experience supporting/executing DoD cyberspace operations. 

  • 5 years of experience with DevOps / DevSecOps implementations. 

Special Skills/Knowledge/Training Required/Desired: 

  • Azure Developer Associate or AWS Certified Developer. 

  • MySQL 8.0 Database Developer Oracle Certified Professional. 

  • Knowledge of standard systems engineering, computer software, and hardware principles. 

  • Prior experience working USCYBERCOM and or USAF Cyber is desired but not required.  

Contract Specific Requirements: 

Upon award, the contract will have a period of performance of a 12 month base year with 2 twelve month options for a total of 36 months.
