This challenging and rewarding role focuses on designing, implementing, managing, and securing our Citrix application delivery environment.
Position Summary: As the Sr Server Administrator, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing our Citrix infrastructure. This position requires a strong background in Citrix technologies, with a primary focus on Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop, Citrix VDA and VDI, Citrix PVS, and Citrix NetScaler/ADC.
Primary Responsibilities:

• Stage physical and virtual Citrix servers for new projects, ensuring adherence to security practices and policies.
• Migrate existing environments to new Citrix releases and operating system versions, minimizing user impacts and outages.
• Monitor and manage Citrix NetScaler Application Delivery controllers, including the creation of load balancing rules.
• Assist in the ongoing maintenance of Windows and Linux servers supporting internal domain services and applications.
• Ensure consistent updates and adherence to backup procedures, vulnerability patching, and technical documentation.

Minimum Requirements:

• Education: Associate Degree
• Experience: 10+ years of systems administration on a medium to large scale network. 2 to 3 years' experience of desktop support on large scale network (at least 1000 nodes) can be substituted.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, Active Directory, DNS, Systems Management Server, and DHCP Administration.
• Certifications: Microsoft MCSE, MCITP, or equivalent, and Citrix CCA-AppDS or CCA-V.

Preferred Requirements:

• Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Mathematics, or related studies.
• Preferred Experience: 10 years of related IT experience.
• Preferred Certifications: Microsoft MCSE, MCITP, or equivalent, and Citrix CCP-AppDS, CCP-V.

Core Job Responsibilities:

• Possess excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong Windows server troubleshooting and administration experience.
• Adept with VMware virtualization technologies.
• Fundamental knowledge of SAN and NAS storage environments; experience with Cisco networking technologies is preferred.
• Experience with enterprise backup solutions and endpoint security products preferred.
• Monitor server security, recommend and implement server changes to maintain high levels of network security and reliability.
• Participate in on-call rotation 24x7 for IS-related issues.
• Implement and maintain Windows server-based applications.
• Troubleshoot network and application communication issues.
• Assist other IS staff with learning server administration skills and technologies.
• Work within a team environment on multiple projects as both a leader and a team member.
• Work closely with the Help Desk and other IS staff to resolve problems.
• Follow department guidelines and procedures set forth by Senior LAN Administrators and Department.
• Proactive, able to work independently, and handle constant change.
• Able to withstand long hours of sitting in front of a computer.
• Ability to express complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing.
