We're currently looking for a Sr. Security Architect to join our team in Franklin, TN.
The Security Architect reports to the security manager and frequently interacts with the chief information security officer, as well as audit and compliance. The Security Architect is responsible for designing security solutions that protect the business, but also allow the business to execute and innovate. This position is also responsible for architecting solutions to secure business-to-business initiatives, third-party relationships, outsourced solutions and vendors.
The Security Architect provides expert guidance for addressing current security issues, but has the foresight to see where the industry is headed and proactively deliver optimal secure solutions. The architect is expected to think like an adversary and identify how solutions should evolve as the threat landscape changes. A senior-level role, the architect possesses strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to guide less experienced coworkers. The architect provides technical leadership to delivery and solution design team members.
Job functions Include but are not limited to:

  • Drive security efficiencies, enabling security team members to work on more advanced tasks.
  • Participate in various recurring project review calls and provide verbal or written Security Architecture guidance based on Nissan's policies and standards, as well as industry best practices.
  • As an example, the qualified candidate would participate in application architecture design reviews to provide guidance on Security Architecture requirements or participate in project/vendor reviews along with the security's GRC (Governance, Risk & Compliance) team, validating requirements, identifying risk from Security Architecture perspective, then document findings and recommendations using the department established formal communication.
  • Create, evaluate, and deploy IS/IT infrastructure architectural designs or applications specific to the security team.
  • Research, gather project requirements, architect, deploy, and provide support with InfoSec's applications and infrastructure.
  • Support Security, IS/IT, and business with ad-hoc Security Architecture guidance, or project requests.
  • Use ITSM tool to creation and management of service requests, incidents and change requests.
  • Provide support for Security management (i.e., SharePoint online sites, etc.).
  • Formally develop or update security team standards, policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Support department planning and execution of incident response and postmortem exercises, with a focus on creating measurable benchmarks to show progress (or deficiencies requiring additional attention).
  • Remain current with new security threats and assess systems to ensure they can defend the business. Constantly research capabilities of current and new disruptive solutions on the market and make recommendations to security leadership.

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 7-10 Years Information Security Experience
  • Relevant certification preferred (i.e., CISSP, Security+, AWS Security Engineering, etc.).
  • A proven background in Security Architecture technology design, as well as implementation and delivery.
  • Experience in cloud computing technologies, including software, infrastructure, and platform-as-a-service, as well as public, private and hybrid environments.
  • Ability to create, read, evaluate, and deploy IS/IT infrastructure architectural designs or applications.
  • Experience with ITSM systems (i.e., Service-Now), creation and management of service requests, incidents and change requests.
  • Experience with use and managed of M365 applications (i.e., SharePoint online, etc.).
  • Experience with MS Office products to create/update documents as well as analyzing data.
  • Working knowledge of Windows, and Linux, as well as directory services (i..e., Active Directory, etc.). Knowledge of Mainframe and AS400 useful but not required.
  • Extensive knowledge of traditional security controls and technologies (i.e., data protection, public key infrastructure (PKI), identity and access management, etc).
  • Knowledge of scripting (i.e, Python, JavaScript, PowerShell, etc.).
  • Ability to identify and assess the severity and potential impact of risks. Communicate risk assessment findings to risk owners outside the cybersecurity program in a way that consistently drives objective, fact-based decisions about risk that optimize the trade-off between risk mitigation and business performance.
  • Experience with one or more of the following: ISO 27001, NIST, Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Center for Internet Security (CIS) standards, OWASP, as well as familiarity with state and regional privacy laws.
  • An understanding of organizational mission, values, goals and consistent application of this knowledge. Understand organization's needs and commitment to delivering high-quality, prompt and efficient service to the business.
  • An ability to work on several tasks simultaneously and pay attention to sources of information from inside and outside one's network within an organization.
  • An ability to apply original and innovative thinking to produce new ideas.
  • Excellent prioritization capabilities, with an aptitude for breaking down work into manageable parts, effectively assessing the priority and time required to complete each part.
  • Strong decision-making capabilities, with a proven ability to weigh the relative costs and benefits of potential actions and identify the most appropriate one.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
