JOB OVERVIEW
Under moderate supervision, the Quality Engineer will research, analyze and prepare reports on all areas related to global quality issues and product returns. QE will support all business function inquiries, including, but not limited to Operations, Innovation, Pro Tour, Finance, Customer Service and Sales.
The Quality Professional will monitor the overall returns process to ensure accuracy and consistency in issue reporting and resolution. QE will also conduct studies and provide analysis reports to assist management in making sound business decisions to address identified and future issues. Responsibilities include leading special projects and supporting daily project activities in which engineering involvement and analysis will be required.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Evaluates return analysis reports and identifies appropriate data from system and development reports.
  • Works with manufacturing, R&D and suppliers, both domestic and overseas, to identify root cause and recommend/implement corrective actions.
  • Monitors the customer returns process to ensure consistency and accuracy in warranty returns.
  • Standardize and simplify the returns reporting processes and assist in analyzing repair vs. replace decisions regarding warranty/non-warranty.
  • Analyze product returns to determine root cause is within defined Callaway product quality standards.
  • Collaborates with R&D engineering to analyze issues unique production issues.
  • Develops returns forecasts for new product releases.
  • Prepares and distributes standard reports with appropriate summary analysis.
  • Coordinates with accounting department to identify product issues and implement process improvements.
  • Prepare and distribute operations reports including yield, scrap, and audit data reports.
  • Works with international suppliers to support and integrate returns data and processes.
  • Work with manufacturing and customer service to identify counterfeit product returns. Assists legal in providing customer and product information along with special projects as needed.
  • Assist management in other related projects as requested.
  • Experienced in conducting robust Root Cause Analysis and developing Prevention Plans.
  • Able to monitor Quality KPI's and evaluate trend data for process improvements.
  • Experienced at performing Measurement System Analysis to ensure current processes and tools are within design limits.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
  • Advanced skill level in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Advanced skill level in Minitab, SAP, and ERP systems.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated application of quality methods and tools. This includes but is not limited to 6 Sigma, FMEA, Design of Experiments, Statistical Process Controls, Measure System Analysis (Gauge R&Rs)
  • Proficiency with report writing applications required, Business Objects knowledge a plus.
  • Able to analyze data, detect trends, perform root cause or other types of analysis, and prepare forecasts based on trend analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to prepare reports for all levels of employees and management containing appropriate levels of technical and non-technical data and analysis.
  • Able to work across business functions, either in teams or individually, to identify and research issues and develop recommendations.
  • Able to effectively manage multiple requests and priorities in a fast paced, quick turnaround environment, while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Able to work extended hours in critical situations.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelors in Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Occasional travel required, domestic and international.
