Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Create thorough, accurate and profitable estimates from design-build to plan and specification projects in the commercial building and heavy industrial sectors.
- Lead clients through the design-build process from pre-construction through final project completion.
- Manage daily relationships with clients including project updates, change requests, problem solving, hand holding, quality control, and additional requests as needed to provide a superior building experience.
- Work effectively with the project superintendent to ensure projects are built as specified, stay on budget, meet the proposed schedule, and are built to our high-quality standards.
- Ability to manage multiple open projects while also bidding projects at the same time.
- Create project schedules.
- Maintaining positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, stakeholders, municipalities, engineering, and architectural firms.
- Review, make changes, and approve submittals, shop drawings, and cut sheets as required.
- Ensure work is bid and performed in adherence with safety policies and procedures.
- Project financial tracking and analysis.
- Overseeing construction means and methods.
- Record-keeping and close out.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- Construction management degree (minimum) - Structural / civil engineering degree (preferred).
- Project management/estimating experience – building/ manufacturing/heavy industrial markets. (minimum 10 total years of experience) Mining experience. (Bonus Points)
- Self-perform mechanical and/or civil project estimating and project management. ( 5 years’ experience preferred)
- Working knowledge of contractual documents, plans, specifications, and construction means and methods.
- Strong computer skills, proficiency with MS Outlook, Excel, Word, and MS Project.
- Sage Project Management / Estimating Software experience. (Bonus Points)
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
- Solid judgement along with decision making skills.
- Highly motivated with an excellent work ethic.
- Team-player: Ability to work with all levels of personnel, clients, and their staff.
- Participate in training to increase job knowledge and improve performance.
- Safety Mindset: OSHA 30 Certification and MSHA Part 48 Certification.
Requirements:
- Must successfully pass a background check and clean drug test.
- Ability to work at a computer for long hours in an office environment.
- Ability to work from a jobsite office environment when needed.
- Ability to visit the worksites to bid and manage projects.
