Senior Project Manager
Element Consulting Inc. is looking for a Senior Project Managerwith 10 years of project/construction management experience. Experience in educational facility construction, public works or large commercial projects is required.
Duties:
- . Project Management Responsibilities
Project management responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Environmental Review
Provide environmental support services, as required, by District including, but not limited to: (I) environmental site assessments; (2) lead paint and asbestos surveys; (3) assisting with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) requirements; (4) providing geotechnical reports; (5) review of existing or proposed regulations and California Department of Education (CDE) guidance to determine impact on District programs and compliance with other environmental regulations; and (6) providing environmental project management. - Design Phase
- Become knowledgeable of District standards and educational Facility specifications and apply these standards to project scoping.
- Develop and verify project scope and cost estimates.
- Assist the District in developing new educational facility specifications and design standards
- Review design to recommend alternative solutions whenever design details affect construction feasibility or schedules.
- Provide periodic response that summarize design progress, schedule and cost status, changes and other significant project information.
- Review and monitor the architect's design schedule.
- Coordinate with Division of State Architect (DSA) for reviews and approval of project designs as appropriate. Participate in design task force
- Attend and/or conduct meetings necessary for coordination with all interested stakeholders and parties.

- Conduct formal design review and value engineering sessions. Evaluate types of building components and systems as requested by the District.
- Develop a construction delivery strategy that meets the District's objectives for the Program and minimizes disruptions to the educational program.
- Provide design and drafting as required.
- Develop project phasing and interim housing plans as required
- Assist the District in the implementation of its Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) processes
- Assist the District in researching products and developing District standard specifications.
- Review construction design and specifications for accuracy and constructability. Assist project architect to identify and obtain all necessary regulatory agency approvals
- Construction Phase
- Assist the District in maintaining communication and cooperation with various local, state and federal agencies, as requested.
- Attend job site meetings with the contractor to assist the project architect to discuss and resolve field and administrative issues. Review planned construction for coordination with ongoing educational programs and school activities.
Required Experience:
- 10 full time paid professional project/construction management experience
- 5 years of experience in managing large programs with projects having construction values in excess of $50 million (not cumulative)
- 5 years' experience in educational facility construction, public works or large commercial projects (may include projects outside of California)
Additional Preferred Experience:
- Lease Lease-Back Experience
- Experience utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM)
- Experience using e-Builder and Prolog
- Experience in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified projects and/or the Collaborative for High Performing Schools
Salary dependent on education and experience. Salary range: $140K-$160K
