Job Summary:

To be successful as a Sr. Production Planner, you should be knowledgeable of material requirements planning and able to manage production deadlines. Ultimately, an exceptional Production Planner should demonstrate excellent time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills to ensure that production operations run smoothly.

Production Planner Responsibilities:

  • Work safely in every case and promote safety at every interaction with associates.
  • Evaluating purchase orders to create suitable production schedules.
  • Estimating the amount of material, equipment, and labor required for production.
  • Promptly addressing and resolving production issues to minimize delays in production.
  • Coordinating production operations in accordance with material, labor, and equipment availability.
  • Recommending viable solutions to reduce production costs as well as improve production processes and product quality.
  • Effecting changes to production schedules to ensure that production deadlines are met.
  • Works closely with warehouse staff to ensure accurate shipments.
  • Notifies internal customers of variances such as back orders or delays and respond to inquiries.
  • Compiling status and performance reports and submitting them to management in a timely manner.
  • Promptly informing the relevant departments of changes to current production schedules.
  • Maintain established procedures and ensure compliance with company policies, work instructions and safe work practices; implement and maintain “best practice” disciplines.
  • Attend daily production meetings and communicate any issues affecting adherence to the scheduled production plan.
  • Plan production schedule on a production horizon basis considering lead times, due dates and resources; clarify and optimize the plan, stock and service levels.
  • Review progress of production schedule at the daily operations meeting; identifying potential issues and developing mitigation plans to reduce risk.
  • Maintain and plan on capacity and stock projections.
  • Work closely with all main functions of the business to ensure you are continually improving and constantly meeting the business objectives.

Production Planner Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business management, or related field is preferred.
  • Experience in SAP preferred
  • Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) accreditation or other relevant certification is advantageous.
  • Proven experience working as a Production Planner.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Sound knowledge of material requirements planning (MRP) and related software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication skills.

Environment:

  • Primarily a desk/production floor assignment
  • Ability to work for long periods of time on a computer
  • Able to bend and twist and lift 20 pounds.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $68.00 - $75.00 per year
