Seeking a Senior Platform Engineer with depth knowledge of both Windows and Linux servers and systems, specifically with knowledge of vulnerability management on those systems and able to respond to identified vulnerabilities through configuration changes, patching or hot fixes. Advanced security knowledge in an enterprise environment desirable. Ability to work independently critical. Must be able to communicate and collaborate across teams while keeping leaders informed on status and progress when provided specific tasks. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Slack, ServiceNow, and Google Apps (as productivity tools) helpful.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth research on security vulnerabilities and findings within Windows and Linux systems.
- Develop and implement effective strategies for resolving identified security issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and comprehensive resolution of system concerns.
- Design and implement robust security measures to safeguard Windows and Linux environments.
- Stay abreast of emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices to proactively enhance system security.
- Provide expert-level support in troubleshooting and resolving server-related incidents and security findings.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field or four years of related experience.
- Proven experience as a Senior Platform Engineer or similar role, with a focus on Windows and Linux administration, management, security and patching.
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation of server administrative tasks.
- Expertise in identifying and mitigating system vulnerabilities and implementing security controls.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
