Sr. Pension & Savings Plan Coordinator
Work Mode: Hybrid
Location: Hybrid at Kohler, WI
Opportunity
Under direct supervision of the Director-US Benefits and limited supervision of the Sr. Benefits Analyst, execute the daily administration of Kohler Co.' s qualified pension plan and qualified 401(k) Savings Plans. This requires working knowledge of pension and Savings Plan administrative systems and procedures and Plan documents. This includes performing pension calculations and preparing the necessary paperwork/documentation, analyzing and reconciling reports, answering moderately complex pension and Savings Plan questions from Human Resources Generalists and Plan participants, responding to external service providers, and maintaining Plan participant electronic and paper files.
Specific Responsibilities
Pension Plan Administration Duties:
  • Perform pension calculations for Plan participants who terminate, retire, or die; prepare and issue the applicable documents to be completed by the Plan participant in order to claim benefits; answer questions related to the Plan, pension benefit calculations, the optional forms of payment, and the prepared documents.
  • Consult with retiring Plan participants, as needed, to assist them with completion of their retirement forms; validate the various retirement forms received from future and current retirees; prepare retirement paperwork for the commencement of retirement benefits.
  • Assist associates with pension benefit projection calculations through utilization of self-service pension estimating system. Serve as a resource to associates with questions regarding the system and the corresponding outputs.
  • Coordinate and complete monthly and annual pension administration processes.
  • Answer a broad range of pension related questions for current and former associates and Human Resources Generalists.
  • Prepare pension information for requests from associates/attorneys for the potential assignment of benefits through Qualified Domestic Relations Orders (QDROs). This involves validating the receipt of the associate' s authorization to release the information; preparing pension benefit calculations as of the specified date(s); preparing and issuing response to the associate/attorney; and providing follow up information as needed.
  • Maintain electronic and paper files related to pension calculations, retirements, QDROs, and other pension related information.
  • Review monthly payroll and HR pension reports, investigate identified errors, and correct pension records as applicable.
  • Assist with annual pension eligibility processing and annual pension service credit processing. This involves reviewing errors reports, investigating reported errors, and correcting data errors within internal systems as appropriate.
  • Assist with collection and preparation of data for the annual audit.
  • Participate in status calls with external service providers, contributing to discussions, and resolving issues.
  • Support special project assignments and lead identified tasks.

Savings Plan Administration Duties:
  • Answer a broad range of 401(k) Savings Plan questions for associates and Human Resources Generalists.
  • Prepare Savings Plan information for requests from associates/attorneys for the potential assignment of benefits through Qualified Domestic Relations Orders (QDROs). This involves validating the receipt of the associate's authorization to release the information; obtaining account information such as account balance, outstanding loans, beneficiary/ies, and vested status as of the specified date(s); preparing and issuing response to the associate/attorney; and providing follow up information as needed.
  • Maintain electronic and paper files related to Savings Plan related information.
  • Respond to requests for Plan participant information from Savings Plan record keeper.
  • Assist with preparation of data for the annual audit.
  • Support special project assignments and lead identified tasks.

Skills/Requirements
  • Associate degree or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 3 or more years of experience in HR or related field.
  • Benefits Administrator experience preferred.

The hourly range for this position is $24.90 - $31.10. The specific hourly rate offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
