Job Summary: Under general supervision, leads a specialty surgical care team, coordinating daily operations and providing support to sub-specialty providers. Handles Patient Scheduling, communication, and administrative tasks to ensure smooth operations and patient care.
Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent with three years' experience in consumer services, preferably in a surgical specialty environment. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Functions:
- Answers incoming phone calls for the specialty care team and schedules appointments.
- Coordinates patient appointments and ancillary studies, ensuring authorizations are obtained.
- Orders outside ancillary studies or therapy and coordinates follow-up appointments.
- Facilitates physician communication and schedules peer-to-peer reviews.
- Manages appointment cancellations, referrals, and reschedules.
- Reviews and ensures accessibility of all digitized studies.
- Schedules ambulatory procedures, obtains authorizations, and coordinates clinical activity.
- Receives, reviews, and routes external referrals as directed.
- Returns patient calls and schedules appointments as needed.
- Assists in training less experienced personnel.
- Manages physicians' travel and academic calendars.
- Receives and manages urgent requests, routing them appropriately.
- Performs financial duties such as insurance authorization and billing assistance.
- Performs other assigned duties.
