Summary:
Our client is searching for a Sr. Network Engineer to join their team to provide Network Engineering and support services for their local clients. This candidate will be responsible for assisting customers with technical support services and planning.
Salary: 100,000-$140,000/yr
Job Type: Full Time / On-site / Light travel involved
Job Duties:
- Leverages a senior role to resolve network infrastructure issues and to design solutions.
- Troubleshoots technical aspects of the enterprise voice and data network infrastructure.
- Develops and applies best practices and procedures for solution delivery and support in addition to producing and maintaining detailed infrastructure documentation.
- Maintains and updates all voice and data hardware and software platforms through lifecycle projects, ensuring compliance with guidelines.
- Possesses working knowledge of Cisco data network hardware environments and current voice infrastructure.
- Takes initiative during alerts or failures, troubleshooting and isolating issues with team collaboration.
- Collaborates with team members, support, and development groups, transferring knowledge effectively.
- Acts as technical lead on assigned projects of a moderate to large scope, while delivering quality solutions, on time, within budget, while factoring future growth when proposing solutions.
- Working with an assigned member of the Project Management Office, authors a project plan, develops a schedule, and creates documentation and messaging.
- Makes sound decisions based on the information available. Remains objective to the ideas or recommendations of peers and open to taking a different approach. Takes ownership and assumes responsibility for decisions made in relation to work assignments.
- Works closely with other support, development, QA, and business teams to provide complete solutions that meet the needs of all parties.
- Updates management with project information in a timely manner.
- Designs and implements network infrastructure solutions, primarily focused on Cisco and Avaya technologies, adhering to company policies.
- Explores new products, technologies, and methods to enhance the infrastructure.
- Maintains documentation supporting work processes and applies security policies to infrastructure design.
- Determines baseline performance of existing systems, monitoring, and resolving performance issues.
- Identifies vulnerabilities within the infrastructure, offering recommendations for improvement.
- Performs all other duties or special projects as assigned.
- Firewall and security appliances (Fortinet, Cisco, Palo Alto, etc.)
- Switches and routers (HPE/Aruba, Cisco, Fortinet, Juniper)
- Wireless access points and controllers (HPE/Aruba, Cisco, Fortinet)
- NAC solutions (HPE/Aruba, Fortinet, Cisco)
- ZTNA and VPN technologies (including SSL-VPN, IPSec, etc.)
- Storage Area Networks (iSCSI SAN architecture)
- Day-to-day administration of networks
- Expertise in secure network architecture, concepts and design
- Comprehensive LAN/WAN experience for routing, switches, ACLs, and VLANs
- Advanced networking concepts (SD-WAN, OSPF, BGP, etc.)
- Strong understanding of IPv4 and subnetting
- Strong understanding of 802.11ac/ax wireless standards and best practices
- Advanced troubleshooting, diagnostic and problem-solving capabilities
- Experience creating and maintaining network documentation and project documentation
- Recent and current vendor certifications from Fortinet, HPE/Aruba, Cisco and others
- Working knowledge of various server and storage platforms and operating systems (HPE, Dell, Windows Server, Linux/UNIX)
