Johnson & Johnson Health Care Systems is recruiting for a Senior Manager, Transport Spend Controlsbased in New Brunswick, NJ or any other J&J site in the Americas region (NA & LATAM).

As the Sr. Manager, Global Transportation Spend Controls, you will be responsible for overseeing and enhancing critical aspects of our transportation operations. Your role will encompass strategic planning, financial management, predictive modeling, freight payment processes, spend analytics, supporting overall global transportation strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the development and management of the annual budget for global transportation operations. Create accurate and insightful financial projections aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Predictive Modeling: Utilize advanced predictive modeling techniques to optimize transportation operations. Identify and implement data-driven solutions for continuous improvement.
  • North America Freight Payment Processes: Supervise the freight audit and payment process and invoice audit providers, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Implement efficient processes for freight payment, focusing on effectiveness and transparency. Manage for performance invoice auditing providers.
  • Global Spend Management: Manage global transportation spending, seeking efficiencies and cost-saving opportunities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance and effective spending practices.
  • Spend Analytics: Develop and implement strategies based on analytics to optimize global transportation. Utilize advanced analytics tools to identify trends and provide valuable insights.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor and report on transportation-related performance metrics, conducting trend analysis, budget variation assessments, and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development of strategic plans for transportation operations. Participate in the creation of operational forecasts and support their implementation.
  • Process Improvements and Compliance : Identify and implement process improvements to streamline controls and compliance monitoring. Participate in ad-hoc projects related to transportation optimization.
  • Data-Driven Decision-Making: Transform data analysis into actionable insights, supporting long-term planning and enhancing monitoring and controls for preventive measures.
  • Leadership and Agility: Demonstrate leadership by acting with speed, agility, and accountability, focusing on high-value projects. Foster continuous learning and adaptability to new analytical techniques and technologies.
  • Credo-Based Culture: Embrace and promote a Credo-based decision-making culture.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of global transportation operations and financial controls.
  • Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, predictive modeling, freight payment processes, analytics, and strategic planning.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and create executive-level presentations.
  • Knowledge of SAP, TMS, Transportation Visibility solutions and analytical platforms (Power BI, Alteryx, Celonis, Tableau, Data-Lake). Other controlling systems is a plus.

Education:

  • University/Bachelor's or equivalent degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Business, or related field.

Experience

Minimum Requirements:

  • Ten (10) years of overall business experience, with focus on Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Project Management, Resource to Pay, Business Analytics, or related areas.
  • Strong project leadership skills and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to resolve conflict, influence teams, and build relationships in a matrixed, global organization.
  • Success in driving projects to completion while maintaining a focus on long-term strategy.
  • Proven track record in overseeing data consolidation, analytics, modeling, and data visualization.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and project management skills.
  • Financial acumen with an understanding of P&L and transactional controls for transportation (GL strings mapping and sync with freight business rules, rate cards, and accruals/provision planning)
  • Effective communication and presentation skills for senior management.
  • Visionary approach to drive change and engagement in a complex, global organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to build alignment across diverse stakeholders.
  • Willingness to commit to approximately 15% domestic and international travel.

Preferred:

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field.
  • Professional certifications related to logistics, transportation, finance, or project management.
  • Successful leadership in large-scale transformation projects.

Other:

  • The anticipated base pay range for this position is $118,000 to $203,500
  • The anticipated base pay range for this position, in the Bay Area, is $136,000 to $234,140

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.

  • Employees may be eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).
  • This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.
  • Employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:
  • Vacation – up to 120 hours per calendar year
  • Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington – up to 56 hours per calendar year
  • Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays – up to 13 days per calendar year
  • Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
