Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

As the Senior Manager Sales Analytics at adidas, you are responsible for leading the Analytics hub dedicated for Wholesale. You will be responsible for delivering cutting-edge analytics services to stakeholders, enabling them to make fact-based decisions.  Using multiple data sources and partnering with several crossfunctional teams, you will manage the generation of insights for the Wholesale business that helps elevate the reporting, planning, and forecasting to ultimately help drive sales.  There will be a strong focus in discovering insights particularly around marketing analytics, opportunity analysis, trade compliance and sell out reporting.    

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and inspire a team of analysts, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. Prioritize multiple initiatives for the team based on business value vs the effort and complexity
  • Develop the Sales Analytics team as a hub of all requests coming in from various stakeholders. Create a process of allocating the requests to the relevant teams and aligning on timelines and expectations.
  • Enhance Wholesale’s overall data capabilities and use of data (including supporting the development of additional data sources, analytic capabilities, or IT tools as required)
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to team members, ensuring their professional development and growth.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior leadership to align Wholesale analytics strategies with business objectives.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate team workload and organizational efficiency with the support of data and team feedback and make appropriate changes in order to meet business needs.

 

Sales Analytics Strategy:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Sales Analytics vision and strategy for the Wholesale business.
  • Statistical analysis for assortment, promotion evaluation, marketing campaign effectiveness, retail program ROI, etc.
  • Drive insights into sell-out performance, market trends, marketing analytics, opportunity analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders such as DNA, local and global analytics teams, Planning, and Sales to identify and address analytical needs and opportunities.

 

Dashboards and Reporting Excellence:

  • Provide business input to drive the data integrity initiatives to ensure the accuracy and reliability of sales data.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve reporting processes for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develop and enhance reports for sales, planning, tools and sales development policies team to provide actionable insights to the leadership team.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of interactive and insightful dashboards for sales and marketing teams. Ensure dashboards are user-friendly, intuitive, and aligned with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into meaningful visualizations.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Very good people leader skills with the ability to guide, prioritize and inspire a high performing team
  • High level of project management and prioritization skills, including the ability to lead projects or work on several projects simultaneously.
  • Skilled in presenting complex topics to stakeholders at various organizational levels both in person and remotely.
  • Must be able to story tell in a manner that allows listeners to understand intent and message without necessarily having the same technical knowledge.
  • High proficiency or expertise with database, statistical and business intelligence systems, analytics tools, and disciplines (e.g., Python, R, SAS, SPSS, MicroStrategy, Tableau, SQL, Google Analytics, PowerBI, Adobe Analytics or similar data analytics tools, etc)
  • Extensive experience with visualization techniques
  • Business acumen for the Wholesale channel preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Alteryx and MSS
  • Strong communication skills
  • Fluent in written and verbal English

 

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • University degree in the field of Business or equivalent
  • 8+ years of experience in Analytics
  • Experience leading a team preferred

  • We officially returned to office in a hybrid work environment, working 3 days in office and 2 days remote. The working location of this position is Portland, OR.

  • Though our teammates hail from all corners of the world, our working language is English.
