About the job

The Homeless Youth and Young Adult Department is continuing to expand and is seeking a high level, committed, compassionate Senior Manager who is responsible for the coordination of the department under the direction of the Director and for overseeing and managing the operations of the assigned programs. In this critical leadership role, you will need to understand and implement the agency culture of psychological safety and courageous leadership; learning and continuous quality improvement; diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging; flexibility and support; collaboration and transparency; and accountability. Additional job responsibilities include recruiting, orientating, and training new staff within assigned programs and department wide.
The senior manager will be the representative of Waypoint’s Homeless Youth and Young Adult Programs in the appropriate ways throughout the state and oversee the daily operations of the program. Additional responsibilities will include assisting the Director in all aspects of grant writing – federal, state, local and charitable. This position will oversee 3 regions of New Hampshire including Concord, Manchester and Dover/Rochester Areas. You will need the ability to travel amongst the 3 areas frequently. Home Base is listed as Manchester, NH but is negotiable between these 3 office locations.

Qualifications:
  • You must be motivated and passionate about our mission and purpose
  • Master’s Degree with a major in social work, public health, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience preferred, in a non-profit setting.
  • Working knowledge of the needs of Youth and Young Adults experiencing homelessness and housing instability and effective programming for this population.
  • A balanced perspective with an ability to tolerate ambiguity, understand nuance, and make ethical decisions.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, good driving record, reliable transportation, and liability insurance coverage.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities at any given time and follow through until work is completed in order to meet important deadlines
  • Strong verbal, written and organizational skills
  • Ability to build positive, supportive professional relationships with staff, administration and executive leadership partners
  • Ability to travel within the general area of their Regional Office to provide in-person supervision
  • Willingness to be flexible to accommodate/meet staff needs.
  • Must pass a criminal record check, with no history of abuse, neglect or exploitation and a motor vehicle check
  • Must have a valid driver's license and auto insurance that meets agency minimum liability coverage of $50,000/$100,00
