What you'll doWe are looking for a hands-on Sr. Manager, Engineering to own the Document Management group, helping to scale and build the next generation of e-Sign experiences. You will own core functionality for all document experiences, including upload, download, document processing, etc. All documents flow through this pipeline and it touches the experience of every customer of DocuSign. As a technology leader, you will help build a premier software organization that is responsible for building low or no code SaaS products that meet the needs of our wide range of customers and their workflows. You are results-driven, believe in winning together, and always looking for continuous improvement. Our team focuses on distributed decision making that rewards ownership and collaboration.
This position is a people manager role reporting to the Director, Engineering.
Responsibility
- Be the Engineering leader responsible for executing on our product roadmap using agile practices and will cultivate the culture, processes, and tools required to maintain a streamlined high quality development environment
- Have passion for continuous improvement
- Be responsible for delivering products that delight customers while handling the health of the code base through continuous refactoring and management of technical debt
- Provide mentorship and leadership in software methodologies, automated test strategies, and work toward flattening the cost of change curve for our software products and services
- Have a proven track record of building impactful, secure applications and building security into the DNA of products
- Manage a team of engineers at different stages of their career, actively investing in their growth and development
- Cultivate an open, collaborative, and lively work environment for yourself and your team
- Work closely with product, design, security, customer success and other teams to provide technical expertise throughout all phases of product development
- Obsess over great user experience and will be a partner to product management and engineering, sales, operation, and other parts of the business
Hybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation)

What you bringBasic
- 12+ years of combined software development and management experience across at least 3 languages or paradigms, and frameworks or equivalent experience
- 8+ years of hands on software development or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of running software organizations over 25 people or equivalent experience
- Experience with highly scalable, high-volume distributed systems and services with resiliency, availability (five nines), and performance
- Experience with large complex data ecosystems and data quality and lifecycle issues
- Experience with Saas or Cloud
Preferred
- Prior experience building an integration's platform and infrastructure to seamlessly integrate 3rd party applications
- Consistent track record leading geographically dispersed teams
- Prior experience with full stack SaaS development
Wage Transparency
Based on applicable legislation, the below details pay ranges in the following locations:
California: $165,800.00 - $265,625.00 base salary
Illinois and Colorado: $157,900.00 - $223,075.00base salary
Washington and New York (including NYC metro area): $157,900.00 - $234,275.00 base salary
This role is also eligible for bonus, equity and benefits.
