The Royal Caribbean Group's Global eCommerce Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Sr. Manager, eCommerce Product that will have a focus on call center systems, reporting to the AVP, Global eCommerce Experience.

 

This position will work on-site in Miami, Florida.

 

Position Summary:

 

In this position, you will be responsible for providing leadership over the team that defines the strategy and functionally executes the roadmap. 

 

You will lead several leaders and their teams, in close collaboration with business stakeholders from across the corporation, to define the vision for the entire end-to-end Guest cross-channel experience, across all digital touch points. In addition, this leader and the teams will be accountable for the successful launch of all of Global eCommerce Products in their portfolio from ideation through implementation. 

 

You will need a deep understanding and proven track record of product management and user experience design with respect to Web, mobile, Web engineering, as well as the ability to provide broad influential leadership towards the development of Guest-centric experiences. 

 

You will also need to have an eye toward the rapidly evolving digital landscape and provide leadership over advanced and emerging concepts, new trends in retail, eCommerce and front end and back end optimization technologies in product development, to help both educate leaders across the company, as well as inform our forward - looking roadmap. 

 

You will be responsible for ensuring the teams adhere to (and/or aid in the creation of) the development and consistent application of product design principles, oversee the definition of user experience and visual design systems, to ensure efficient and scalable product development. 

 

You will work with multiple product and project teams simultaneously, thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment and connect unexpected threads across disparate delivery teams. 

 

The role will provide leadership for product leads and senior UX professionals, and an overall team of 4 -30 employees and contractors, freelancers and vendors as products, features and initiatives are ideated, designed, developed and executed. 

 

You will need to direct and develop teams that ideate and deliver high quality experiences by both fostering and demonstrating a culture of data-driven and end-user focused product think, design, engineering and innovation. 

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • eCommerce Strategy: Provides leadership over the strategic direction of Global eCommerce Products, across all touch points, including strategy, product roadmap, product design, front-end technical development, launch and ongoing optimization. Partner and collaborate closely with stakeholders from the various departments across the corporation to understand how to adapt and evolve the strategy of our Global eCommerce Products based on key drivers (cost savings, revenue generation, increased direct share, etc.) 

 

  • Product Definition: Leads the team(s) responsible for the development of the vision and definition of Global eCommerce Products by connecting multiple complex guest touch points (e.g., research, feedback, etc.), technology strategy, business drivers and business value, with a Guest-first focus. Provide direct leadership to ensure that the product specifications that are created enable a desirable, feasible and viable product for the relevant end-user. In addition, the Sr. Manager must foster a highly collaborative team, where cross-discipline dynamic communication is paramount to the successful delivery of the product. 

 

  • Product Delivery: The Sr. Manager is ultimately accountable for on-time, on-budget and on-strategy delivery of our products and projects through careful prioritization and review Product standards as well as adoption of new features added to the portfolio: Leads the team(s) in setting digital principles, standards and practices (across product definition, product design and product engineering) and is ultimately responsible for a) ensuring that all delivery teams within her/his area, apply those practices to their various work products and b) continually aid in the active validation and evolution of those practices. 

 

  • Product Roadmap: Leads the team(s) responsible for the development of the overall product roadmap for her/his area of product in collaboration with all relevant stakeholders and collaborates with other product leadership to develop the overall product roadmap for all products. Advocates for the appropriate level of funding necessary to meet the rapid adoption of Global eCommerce Products by our guests 

 

  • Management: Responsible for all aspects of personnel management (e.g., hiring, training and development, etc.) of the direct reports and overall team, to nurture a high performance team, maintain turnover low and develop succession leaders in the product area 

 

  • Key Relationships: Work with multiple product and project teams including Product Owners, Engineering, Design and Delivery to bring product to life and to market. 

 

  • Financial Responsibilities: Creates and manages budget for own operating group and programs/projects under their supervision. Effectively builds business cases to obtain funding for proof of concepts, new technology products and capital acquisition requests. Ensures efficient utilization of staff and non-labor resources. Accountable for financial implications and cost of systems and services. Responsible for defining optimization opportunities to manage expenses 

 

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

 

  • Minimum 10 years in a Global eCommerce Product, design and/or engineering senior leadership role 
  • Bachelor's degree required, with a MS/MBA or other relevant advanced degree preferred 
  • Significant and demonstrable experience in leading teams/organizations in bringing high quality Global eCommerce Products to market 
  • Possess a combination of strategy and execution skills at a corporate level. 
  • Must have a proven track record of leading large teams through ideation, design, and delivery of complex Guest-facing products. 
  • Solid understanding of accounting rules for expense and capital activities 
  • Deep knowledge and extensive track record in leading teams in the development of Web solutions, with a deep understanding of how to get consumer-centric solutions to market with a high degree of success 
  • Deep knowledge of digital technologies, with an eye toward the continual change in consumer technology, including but not limited to: artificially intelligent, omnichannel journeys, loyalty platforms, search, cross device navigation, SMS, push notifications and voice search among others. 
  • Experience leading product, design and engineering teams through a software development lifecycle that leverages agile principles, yet recognizes constraints necessary in an environment that has both antiquated systems and a construction lifecycle with a long lead time 
  • Ability to effectively provide overall leadership across a large and diverse delivery system, that spans product definition, design and engineering across front-end UI, services and back-end systems 
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication and project/program leadership skills, including the ability to communicate effectively at the senior most executive levels of a company or highly technical and specialized resources. 
  • Proven ability to collaborate with and achieve actionable results through others, plus the ability to build strong and sustainable relationships, and the capability to interact with all levels of the organization 
  • Ability to grasp the complexities of the business, and effectively translate that into a strategy that drives measurable results 
  • Ability to think strategically and drive ideas into action, with a positive outlook and willingness to take personal initiative
