Sr. Manager, Corporations & Foundations Relations

Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation is dedicated to curing spinal cord injury by advancing innovative research and improving quality of life for individuals and families impacted by paralysis. The Reeve Foundation is a pioneer in the field of spinal cord injury (SCI) research and has funded millions of dollars in the laboratories of key thought leaders around the world. The Foundation is committed to building on the findings of decades of research and developing therapies that bring meaningful solutions to people with SCI. Its National Paralysis Resource Center (NPRC) provides the most comprehensive knowledge, tools, and services for individuals impacted by paralysis through dedicated Information Specialists, a substantial Quality of Life Grants Program, Peer & Family Support Program, Military and Veterans Program, Racial and Health Equity initiatives, and Advocacy Program.

Job Summary:

The Sr. Manager, Corporations & Foundation Relations will be responsible for identifying and developing corporate and foundation relationships and opportunities with a goal of generating revenue and growing corporate and foundation partnerships. They will develop and maintain a strategy designed to significantly expand the program over the next 3 years and oversee corporate giving and foundation fundraising, including managing proposal/grant writing, outreach, and corporate sponsorship opportunities.

The Sr. Manager will be responsible for identifying and securing corporate sponsors for annual events including Team Reeve, Reeve Summit, the signature gala, Reeve Golf Classic, and A Walk to Believe, among others.

Additionally, the individual will be responsible for performing job duties, interacting with the community and coworkers, and managing themself in a manner consistent with, and in support of, the organization’s mission and core values.

Major Responsibilities:

People:

· Work with marketing, advocacy, research, and care teams to identify strategies and opportunities for cause marketing

· Build new and steward relationships with current corporate and foundation donors

· Coordinate on and off-site visits with donors and prospects nationally

Events/Functions/Production:

· Manage current institutional giving portfolio with a minimum fundraising expectation of $1M annually

· Write, prepare, and submit institutional, foundation and family foundation grant proposals

· Work collectively across Reeve to ensure accuracy and clarity of proposal/solicitation submission and stewardship

Data:

· Develop and conduct prospect research and planning strategies to identify and cultivate new corporate and foundation prospects, including annual plan opportunities

· Develop protocols for use of SalesForce for corporate and foundation donors and manage corporate data entry

Lead:

· Design and implement a corporate partnership strategy/program. Work collaboratively with others to create and build strategies to engage new and current entities

· Conduct regular planning meetings to coordinate efforts across the department and Foundation as necessary

· Develop annual plan to grow and move the program forward over the next 3 years

Required Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

· Ability to synthesize and translate complex information into clear messages for prospects and donors

· Proven experience in proposal writing and editing with an aptitude for budget planning, financial reporting, and data analysis

· Demonstrated experience in identifying, cultivating, and maintaining relationships with corporate and individual prospects

· Success in meeting and growing fundraising goals within nonprofit organizations

· Ability to manage concurrent projects while meeting all deadlines

Preferred Qualification:

· Master’s Degree

Language Skills:

· Advanced written and verbal English communication skills

Computer/Technical Skills:

· Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

· Intermediate knowledge of a CRM database such as Salesforce or Donor Direct

Candidate should:

· Use critical thinking skills to analyze and distill complex topics into easily understood concepts

· Have strong writing and communication skills with the ability to persuasively and concisely present complex material

· Be organized with a strong attention to details and deadlines

· Be able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

· Effectively partner with colleagues and volunteers across Reeve

Physical Demands/Office Environment:

This position is primarily a sedentary role but will have periods of physical activity. The person in this position may need to occasionally move about inside the office to liaise with internal staff, access files, office machinery and a copy machine/printer. As stated above, the position involves moderate travel. In addition, this person will need to be able to set up live events, including exhibit booths, stages for presenters and displays. They will need to be able to lift up to 10 lbs.

Travel:

Approximately 10% travel required, including outside of the tri-state area.
