The Senior Manager of Brand Strategy is charged with developing and implementing strategies and processes to establish, maintain and promote Benjamin Moore’s brand identity and image globally. This role is critical to shaping how the brand is perceived in the market and how it sets itself apart from competition. They will oversee brand standards and ensure compliance with the company’s strategy across all channels and segments. They will be also involved in key decisions related to content development and communications plans in order to ensure consistency in messaging across all channels.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and update brand standards, logos, and processes that guide the visual, audio and copy language of the brand in order to improve brand health and communication.
  • Ensure compliance to established standards both internally and externally.
  • Develop and refine brand and product positioning in the market to differentiate from competition, including providing guidance on copy development and key messages.
  • Ensure that the company’s brand communications are tonally consistent and on message and that its global activities are aligned with its Brand Strategy.
  • Consult on, and in some instances, lead development of content cross functionally to ensure accuracy, alignment to overall Brand Strategy, and balance between brand, service, product, and color messaging.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure materials are being produced within the brand’s established framework.
  • Identify and execute market research needed to guide Brand Strategy decisions, working with appropriate marketing teams to ensure quality results.
  • Actively participate in guiding the development of briefs across organization for proper kickoff.
  • Oversee tracking of brand measures and KPI’s to understand the success and impact of initiatives.
  • Participate in regular Interagency (IAT) meetings, actively providing brand and strategic perspectives.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and changes in audience behavior to adapt new positioning and strategies as needed.
  • Provide training and communication on all things related to brand.
  • Support RFP evaluations as needed.

Required Knowledge & Desired Skills
  • MBA preferred but not mandatory
  • 8-10 years progressive marketing experience in Marketing Communications, Strategy or Brand Management
  • Experienced in setting strategic direction and cascading to tactical plans
  • Experienced in team management and comfortable working with employees at all different organizational levels, including senior leadership
  • Understands the importance of strategic understanding and alignment at all levels
  • Strong interpersonal savvy & team building orientation, with the ability to work cross-functionally
  • Good business judgement and ability to make decisions with confidence
  • Excellent written and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational skills, self-directed, and highly detail oriented
  • High-level proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of products
