Job Summary
The Sr. Investment Specialist supports the Chief Investment Officer and investment staff for NWL’s $10 billion + investment portfolio. This position is responsible for the day to day administrative operations of NWL’s Investment Department as well as middle office and back office activities including trade processing, cash management, account reconciliation, corresponding with brokers/counterparties, managing collateral and reporting.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for monitoring and tracking alternative and private investment transactions (capital calls) and for initiating all cash wires related to these investments
- Perform trade settlement responsibilities for bond, commercial paper and option transactions
- Partner with custodians, reinsurers, and other internal departments on trade processing, corporate actions, daily cash requirements and ensure funding needs are met
- Reconcile monthly investment activity and valuations to ensure accurate reporting
- Monitor and manage collateral with counterparties
- Produce and maintain reports, including Board reports, related to investment activity
- Supply information for other internal departments, particularly Accounting and Actuarial
- Complete audit requests as required.
- Maintain operational procedures and documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Responsible for handling billing and maintaining departmental budget
- Assist in managing calendars, scheduling meetings and travel arrangements
- Respond to vendors and partners for documentation and information
