Job Summary
The Market & Customer Insights team is seeking a Senior Insights Managerto join the team. In this role, you will lead market and customer research initiatives, providing a deep understanding of the market, customers, and competition to support our commercial HVAC business. With your expertise in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, and design thinking, you will uncover insights that inspire growth-minded decisions and foster a data-driven culture. As a strategic and solutions-oriented thinker, you will help guide the team's strategy, independently manage multiple research projects, and mentor junior team members. Responsibilities:

  • Independently manage all phases of the market research process including needs identification, project design, execution, analysis, recommendations, and presentation of results
  • Design and lead multiple advanced qualitative and quantitative research initiatives, including designing concept tests, segmentation and conjoint/trade-off research, and other advanced multivariate analysis.
  • Setting and maintaining a strategic research direction and roadmap.
  • Build foundational research for the commercial HVAC business to better understand the customer, market & competition.
  • Serve as a strategic business partner to multiple teams across the business, including leadership, marketing, sales and product management.
  • Help lead the research prioritization process and communicate the roadmap out to the leaders and business.
  • Proactively analyze internal and external data sources to provide insights to the organization.
  • Foster relationships with external and internal partners and establish credibility as a curious partner translating insights into strategies
  • Identify and implement innovative methods and insights practices
  • Drive standard work and process excellence for the market & customer insights team
  • Ability to assist more junior team members, in managing quantitative and qualitative research initiatives
Qualifications:
  • BS degree required; MBA, Master's in Market/Customer Research, Psychology, preferred.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of industry experience in qualitative and quantitative primary research.
  • Deep experience with marketing research tools such as Qualtrics, Tableau, PowerPoint, and text analytics tools.
  • Ability to synthesize complex information into simple narratives with actionable insights.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
  • Experience in coaching/managing people.
  • Strategic thinking and vision.
  • Strong analytical skills to analyze data and present simple stories.
  • Experience in report writing and presenting.
  • Continuous improvement (Lean/six sigma training) is a plus.

  • Expert in analyzing and visualizing data to derive insights, using various research tools and techniques.
  • Skilled in solving complex problems and driving innovation through creative thinking and strategic approaches.
  • Deep understanding of the HVAC industry, Trane Technologies business, and consumer dynamics, enabling informed decision-making (plus but not required).
  • Ability to integrate diverse data sources, combining information from various channels for comprehensive insights.
  • Excellent storytelling skills, effectively communicating insights through compelling narratives to diverse audiences.
  • Effective collaboration and partnership with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals.
  • Skilled in coaching and developing talent in market research and strategic thinking, fostering growth and excellence.
  • Comfortable with change and skilled in prioritization, adapting to new circumstances and managing multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong influencing skills, able to shape strategic direction and drive positive change.

Base Pay Range: $110,000 - $150,000 plus bonus
