Job description

ChampionX has an immediate need for a Human Resources Business Partner(HRBP) supporting our Sugar Land, TX location. This is an opportunity to join a large growing company offering a competitive base salary and benefits. The HRBP provides strategic human resources generalist consultation to associates & managers, while serving as a critical member of both the Freeport/Garyville site leadership team and the global supply chain HR team.

What You Will Do:

  • Serve as a contributing, strategic member of the site leadership team
  • Build effective relationships across all departments to understand business goals and to proactively identify and implement solutions that align with organizational strategies
  • Provide a full range of HR support for the site including feedback/coaching, talent development, succession planning, change management, employee relations, performance management, goal setting, compensation, compliance, and rewards & recognition
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition specialists on all recruitment needs for the organization
  • Develop & implement talent programs and solutions that encourage employee growth and engagement
  • Leverage Workday reporting to critically analyze HR data
  • Participate in various HR and Supply Chain projects as required


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in relevant experience
  • 2+ years of progressive HR experience
  • No immigration sponsorship is available for this opportunity

  • Capable of building strong relationships and rapport with employees, the leadership team and HR colleagues
  • Ability to identify opportunities for improvement, develop strategies and implement solutions
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet critical deadlines
  • Exceptional verbal & written communication, presentation, and coaching skills
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and work with all levels of the organization while using sound judgement, resourcefulness and tact in handling confidential matters or sensitive employee data
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with Workday

Job Posting Description

Job Characteristics: Responsible for day-to-day administration of policies and programs covering several or all of the following: recruiting, compensation and benefits, training, employee and labor relations, safety and personnel research. May have supervisory responsibility. May assist in developing policies.


Education/Work Experience: Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations or Business with three to five years of human resource experience. May have an advanced degree in Industrial Relations or Business and fewer than two years of experience.


Independence Level/Reports to: General supervision. Very difficult to check work. Errors may cause delay, expense and disruption. Normally reports to Divisional HR Director.
