Primary purpose of the position:

Responsible for leading efforts to analyze and define detailed specifications for business systems which map to business processes.  Performs as an expert at driving solution delivery by facilitating requirements analysis and design activities with the business to accurately determine future system requirements.  Ensures solutions are in alignment with the enterprise architecture blueprint, the solutions architecture and ensures that systems and application designs adhere to standards and policies.  Ensures that all information technology investments are clearly aligned with the priorities of the business. Responsible for team guidance and delivery of complex, technical solutions to business needs.


Essential Responsible Areas:

 

  • Leads efforts to elicit future systems requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops,
  • surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis
  • to analyze, design and implementation business solutions for complex business problems.
  • Partner with business analysts and respective cross-functional business groups (e.g. Finance, HR, IT, etc...) to elicit
  • functional and non-functional requirements
  • Proactively communicates and collaborates with external and internal customers to analyze information needs
  • and functional requirements and deliver the following artifacts as needed: (functional requirements (business
  • requirements document), use cases, GUI, screen and interface designs).
  • Takes a broad perspective to identify innovative business solutions that challenges the business on their
  • assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans.
  • Participate in defining the integration between proposed development projects and existing systems, software
  • and hardware.
  • Ensures that systems and application designs adhere to standards and reflect the architecture appropriately.
  • Collaborates with other divisions IT leads as well as other stakeholders to align solution in support of the business'
  • tactical and strategic plans. Aligns IT goals with business needs.
  • Researches emerging technologies and recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness, improve
  • flexibility or better support business requirements.
  • Work closely with third-party vendors including software providers, implementation partners, and consultants 
  • Understand existing and anticipated application functionality, including cloud-based offerings, that meet business demand. 
  • Assist the team with user acceptance testing requirements for existing and new application systems and modules 
  • Partner with key strategic solutions partners for small and large scale engagements to help develop the vision of the technology service 
  • Manage the configuration, setup, and maintenance of application-related solutions 
  • Mentors other analysts on the team by providing guidance and hands-on solving of complex problems.

Region Specific Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop new and enhance existing applications within our Hyperion PBCS environment.
  • Design and develop new and enhance existing on premises Essbase applications.
  • Work with existing PBCS & Essbase administrators to triage and fix issues in the applications. 
     

Position Requirement & competencies:

 

  • Broad training in a related field usually acquired through college level education. Bachelor's degree or relevant experience. in Accounting, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
  • Job related experience for 5+ years minimum.  5+ years development experience implementing solutions for complex systems supporting business processes.  3+ years of leadership.
  • Experience in driving software and technology solutions in large, complex organizations.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and projects to drive business improvements
  • Experience in driving process and technology re-engineering using industry practices e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, Kaizen, COBIT, ITIL, CMMi.
  • 6+ years development in Hyperion PBCS, Essbase, and FDMEE.
  • Strong proficiency in Hyperion Planning including calculation manager, web forms, integration, business rules, FDMEE, integration, and optimizing performance.
  • Strong proficiency in Hyperion Essbase including ASO, BSO, calculation scripts, load rules, and other scripts.
  • Strong understanding of accounting and planning concepts.
  • Ability to be flexible about project changes and dynamically mitigate risks in the moment with mid-course corrective action
  • Strong analytical and product management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple, complex projects simultaneously
  • Appropriately manages customer expectations regarding scope, schedule, and budgetary parameters
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong estimation skills and techniques required.
  • Proven project planning and management skills.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data and make recommendations.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to learn new things
  • Working knowledge of the following areas:  system and business principles, practices, nomenclature, and procedures, generally accepted managerial practices and procedures, programming, systems design, computer operating systems and utilities, project management, risk management, security, cost management, implementation and start-up of new business processes and computerized systems, as it relates to information services, of purchasing, legal contracts, taxes, leases, licenses, accounting, economics, depreciation, capitalization, accruals, ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations), EAR (Export Administration Regulations), auditing (internal and external), insurance, and contract negotiations
  • In-depth technical knowledge and expertise in field; strong development skills in relevant technology.
  • Business process knowledge preferred in accounting and planning processes and systems.
  • Expertise in various software development methodologies and applicability, e.g., XP, iterative.  Expertise in entire software development life cycle (SDLC).
  • Exceptional understanding of software quality principles including test methodologies.
     

 Compensation & Benefits

  • Hybrid On-Site Work Environment: Based in Colorado, this position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site for three (3) or more days per work week (with core collaboration days of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday). [Travel and local commute between Ball locations and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.]
  • Hiring Salary Range: $83,200 - $124,660 (Salary to be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
  • This role will be eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.
