The Aerospace Defense and Marine (AD&M) business of TE Connectivity are leaders in the development and engineering of a comprehensive portfolio of contactors, relays, sensors, fiber optics, wires, cables, antennas, circuit protectors and moldings for harsh environments. The role of Field Applications Engineer will be responsible for driving design-in at the early stage of programs, and executing conversion of the engineering pipeline into programs wins, thru the close working with AD&M key customers - KAI, Hanwha, LIG Nex1....  

Key Responsibilities

 

    Identify sales and business opportunities with key customers (KAI, Hanwha, LIG Nex1...) in Korea, to grow the engineering project pipeline in line with the technology roadmap.
    Execute conversion of the engineering pipeline into project wins.
    Identify current and future customer needs, and together with the customer find appropriate solutions (using either known or new technologies) for customer applications.
    Drive the design-in and development of new products and / or platforms and manage the seamless and speedy execution of sales and engineering projects.
    Generate, prepare and present TE proposals (product selection, design solutions, product specifications and project objectives) to customers. Develop and implement product rationalization programs where applicable
    Proactively interface and communicate with the customer and internal TE stakeholders (mainly BU Engineering, Product Management) to ensure that all stakeholders understand the requirements and have all needed information available.
    Provide high quality customer support, consulting services and advice on all technical-related topics concerning TE products.
    Provide regular project status updates to key stakeholders. Provide regular project status updates to the involved parties, especially the Account Manager. 
    Assess technical complaints from customers and problem solve solutions to these issues.
    Maintain regular contact with customers to manage customer expectations about project timelines, milestones and deliverables. Ensure product samples and supporting design and product verification activities are delivered to customer in agreed timeframes.
    Understand the customer, the market, competition, technology roadmaps and trends and apply this knowledge to customer solutions.
    Develop a network of contacts within customer organization (eg Engineering, Project Management, Product Management, R&D etc) and share details of these contacts with relevant Account Manager/s (via Sales Force.com / Account Business Plan). Develop higher level relationships within the customer's design/technology organizations
    Develop and give technical product presentations to customers and sales channels
    Managing and Tracking on the RTS/SFDC dashboard - drive system update and tracking on progress
 

Key Qualifications, Experiences, and Knowledge

 

    University engineering degree (Electronics, or aerospace engineering preferred)
    Professional level of engineering experience
    A broad knowledge of TE technologies and product portfolio and the markets they serve
    Previous experience in FIELD APPLICATION, (high reliability industries preferred)
    Experience or working relationship with key customers (KAI, Hanwha, LIG Nex1...)
    Understanding and ability to solve complex technical solutions.
    Creative, analytical, and structured thinking with the ability to execute on priorities.
    Strong interpersonal and influencing skills and the ability to build strong, credible relationships with multiple organizational functions (inside and outside of TE)
    Strong presentation skills
    Ability to work with deadlines and challenging targets
    Ability to identify and pursue new business opportunities in line with business plans.
    High level of written and verbal communication skills, including ability to communicate in English
    Develop credibility & trust resulting in customer "buy in"
