Job Summary:
Develops and implements programs to ensure that environmental regulatory obligations are fulfilled cost-effectively and that environmental risks are effectively managed. Analyzes and maintains detailed records of pollutant concentrations in air, water, plant and soil samples. Assists field locations in pollution prevention and waste minimization programs through periodic monitoring and technical guidance. Conducts research on the degradation of pollutants in the environment, including streams, sediments and groundwater. Maintains detailed records and prepares related reports and studies for submission to regulatory agencies.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develops, creates and maintains technical standards for management and control of waste programs. - Ensures content meets statutory requirements, regulatory requirements and company guidelines for technical documents. - Maintains complete, accurate and current documentation of source materials in accordance with records management policy.
- Conducts risk assessment to identify need for new or revised standards.
- Serves as a technical resource for regulatory research, assessment, and interpretation of waste regulations in coordination with Legal.
- Coordinate with maintenance/contractor personnel during turnaround to ensure proper waste management/handling
- Prepare shipping papers, manifests, and bill of ladings for waste shipments
- Ensure RCRA compliance with weekly inspections, oversight of Delek and Contractor work areas
- Document and reconcile waste shipments in database
- Monitor of in-plant roll off boxes, frac tanks, drum containers
- Assist with waste characterization, profiling, and logistics for waste shipments
- Coordinate and assist with waste disposal projects
- Assist with emergency response, spill response, cleanup activities
Required Qualifications – Education, Skills & Experience:
At least 5 years of related experience. Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
40 Hr HAZWOPER & DOT Certifications or ability to complete them ASAP.
Prior RCRA experience in refinery or industrial setting a huge plus. Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and other Office applications.

Requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and basic knowledge of related job disciplines. Solves complex problems. Works independently, receives minimal guidance. May lead projects or project steps within a broader project or may have accountability for on-going activities or objectives. Acts as a resource for those with less experience. Level at which career may stabilize for many years or until retirement.
