The Sr Environmental Health & Safety Specialist will coordinate all EHS functions by planning, implementing, and administering industrial health programs to analyze and control conditions contributing to occupational hazards and diseases. The position may require periodic interactions with Federal and State agencies. The position will require obtaining/retaining hazardous waste certificates and subsequent annual maintenance training.

The position will also be required to generate and present training on various topics such as ergonomics, hazardous materials, plant safety, and evacuation procedures.What Will You do?In order to grow and build a successful career with TSI, you will be responsible for:* Establish and maintain robust safety and environmental programs across the various assigned enterprise sites.* Lead and/or coordinate all employee safety training for various sites, including maintaining training records and ensuring the employees meet OSHA training requirements.* Conduct or facilitate plant/area surveys to determine safe limits of exposure to materials or conditions.* Conduct or facilitate ergonomic analysis of work cells and workstations. Suggest ergonomic and safety improvements. Generate and present training concerning safety and ergonomics.* Conducts site audits and job hazard analysis to identify unsafe acts or conditions, works with line management/supervision to identify and implement corrective actions, and develops and distributes summary reports.* Manage and/or coordinate the accident investigation process, including the training of supervisors and managers, photographing the accident scene, assisting in the Five Whys investigation, and working with maintenance and/or engineering on process or equipment improvements.* Manage hazardous, universal, and special waste inventories and schedule disposal of materials.

Manage waste streams and associated record keeping including any federally or state required EPA reporting.* Responsible for OSHA reporting regarding workplace injuries and ensures the organization meets OSHA reporting requirements.* Oversees Safety Committees, Emergency and Severe Weather Response Programs and AED program.* Maintain Material Data Sheet (MSDS) program, including engineering evaluation of new chemicals or materials.* Read, review and proof technical documents and blueprints as needed.* Other duties as assigned.* Up to 25% travel to US locationsSupervisory ResponsibilitiesSupervisory responsibilities may require direct or indirect management of hourly or salary personnel.What Do You Need?Required* Associates degree in Occupational Health & Safety with 8 years industry experience or a Bachelors degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering or related degree* Minimum of five years in EHS-related job functions* Experience in managing safety programs and hazardous materials* Strong organizational skills and communication skillsDesired:* CSP - Certified Safety Specialist* OSHA 30-hour certification* Experience in developing and presenting training programs* Coordination of safety programs across multiple sitesKnowledge* Working knowledge of safety programs and ergonomics* EPA hazardous waste requirements* OSHA requirementsWhat Can We Give You?At TSI, our employees are our most valuable assets, and we care about their health and happiness.
